So far I really like these two. Pardon typos, typing one handed.


This one may be overshadowed by the line edits but I really like it! I love how the glowy markings softly fade into the black but are still vibrant enough to stand out and highlight the shape of the dog. I also like the mottled black mixed in for a little texture.

But when it comes to line edits... TheCalicoTabby's dragon does it so so right.

Why I really like this one is the same reason I like Tyr's gryphon from last year; you don't look at it and go "oh it's a dog edited to look like a ____" The edits look really natural and flow well together. It really does look like a dragon rather than a dog edited to look like a dragon.

I definitely agree on both, I think we should call the dragon the Calico dragon...after all we named the malk dragons after their artists!

HALF! It doesn't sound like there's a majority...I still am waiting for someone to explain the lack of a ~darker colour base if this is their guess!

Well, it's not the darkest color base, but it is darker. I consider the base to be around the body, not necessarily the face color -- now compare it to, say, the fluffy-hair pup or the hand-wing pup, where their base color is practically white. Heck, even fluffytail-tigerstripes is lighter than the darker patches of that pup's body tones.

Mm, yeah, I still don't think it's being compared to other staff pets, none of the clues given compare artists...it makes me wonder, did the artists know what the pets looked like before they grew?

They know the palette of the litter, though, so they know the possible base colors. Except for the face, this dog is made up if the darker side of the palette. Not to mention, the tree/ent pup looks too much like Tyr's style to be Ricorn's, imo.

Or are you just as clueless as the rest of us about all dogs besides your own? ^^

Most of us know, because the newer staff especially often seek critique on designs and ideas. But we aren't allowed to reveal the artists or give any clues to anyone else's dog but our own C:
