14 DOGS WERE CHOSEN
It is the year 2341, and scientists have been making huge advancements in many fields. They have created a piece that can be attached to the ear of many animals that looks similar to a tracking device. But the device's capabilities go much farther than just tracking an animal's movements. It can read their emotions, and has been used to determine an animal's personality. At first, it was sold to the wealthy to find the perfect pet for their lifestyle. But the device, often called a "E.T.", short for "Emotional Tracker", had potential for much more. Scientists began experimenting, placing animals with certain personalities in difficult situations and gauging their reactions. It was perfect for determining how people with similar personalities to the animals would react in the same dangerous situations.
At the same time, scientists on the other side of the world were inventing something equally, if not more, awe-inspiring. They discovered how to create what they call "simulations." Completely computer generated, the simulations begin with a fence around a simple area of land, usually many, many acres. Inside this fence, they have learned to manipulate atoms and molecules to the point where they can create almost anything- magnificent landscapes, skyscrapers, even living things such as plants and some wild animals. The simulations have their flaws, though, since they aren't natural. Each one is different.
For the first time, the inventors of both the E.T.s and the simulations have gotten together. They have decided to have a test. 14 dogs were chosen because of their distinct personalities to be placed in a massive simulation to test how they will work together to withstand the challenges that will be thrown at them. How where the dogs chosen? Hundreds of stray dogs were taken from the streets and shelters all over the world. Their personalities were tested by the E.T. scientists. With the data collected, there was many possible candidates. The two groups of scientists argued for weeks about which would be the best choice.
But one thing is universal. Music. Finally, all the scientists agreed that they should choose the dogs based on how their personalities matched with songs. Namely, Coldplay. Everyone could agree on that fact. The fourteen were chosen.
