[color=#40BF80]@DeckOfCards, I mostly agree with the article Lunar put up but the spirit familars sound more like animal/spirit guides or totam animals. I don't know if any of you consider there to be a differance I personaly think its mostly samantics but for others there seems to be a huge differance, so i thought I'd just point it out.

@Lunar firstly *hugs* sorry aboout your recent troubles and that I didn't get a chance to respond in a timly manner. I hop things are going better for you now and I'm glad to see you happy about your new deck books, I considered asking you for another reading but my 'nice' deck just yelled at me about needing to take a vacation by giving me a mix of swords and death when I asked for further clarifaction it spat the hermit at me.. This is usually the deck that looks on the bright side of everything!

I hope to hear more about the books esp if thay are relavant to this thread if not you can pm me, as I will likely still be interested.

@ eveyone My mom just got back from a shopping trip in the states and bought me a few things wiccan including a cadle that has a removable and wearable pentacal. This will actually be my first pentacal! She also got me some white sage.. I hope that she didn't have to explain it at the boarder. She also kinda outed me from my broom closet on FB by sending me a bunch of stuff from a wiccan page there(may post a link to the page here later once I have a better look at it) I kinda wonder what my co-workers and very christian in-laws are going to say? And sadly I wonder if it will harm me if I decide to gop looking for another job I seem to be hearing more and more negative stero types about witches latly even from my mate. When I said I was hoping to meet a friend from here he asked how I knew she wasn't a baby eating witch.. He was exaggerating but still I found it hurtfull as I'm sure she likly does :( I however didn't let it daunt me and explained that the beliefs were irrelevent I also asked what was with his sudden use of such negative sterotyping. Him:"it was just a joke." me: "not a funny one." and he hasn't said anything else of the like since, I hope I have finaly made clear how I feel about such things.

I guess I've rambled long enough here, thanks to all who read that tangled thought web.
(I feel better just having typed all of that out)

I wouldn't worry about the stuff people say about witches and AWiccans, I get a lot of that at school and I just ignore it.

On another note, does anyone know any quick and simple rituals to purify/bless jewellery? My mum gave me a lovely Celtic cross necklace, but it's the one she wore when she married my ex-stepdad, and I'd kinda like to clear it of that, as there is a long back story of my ex step dad that I really don't want to remember. I don't know whether it's relevant or not, but the charm is made of pewter and the chain is silver.

Finally, I'm coming up to my 15th birthday, so I was wondering if there are any coming-of-age ceremonies I could plan for next year (when I become 16) that I could do which doesn't need a lot of people or items, as only my mum really knows and understands about my faith.

A short soaking in sea salt followed by a moon bath would likly do the trick(full moon on 19th) just double check about how the pewter and silver react to salt water. A moon bath alone would also likly do the trick. You could also do a simple smudging using sage.

I usualy do ignore and none of the comments have been directed at me so far.. but its the frequancy I've been hearing them latly that has me troubled, it has been a rare occurance to hear such things before..I just hope it hasn't been a warning or omen of some kind that I have been largly ignoring along with these comments.

Sea salt can be purchesed in the bath supplies section in your drugstores and supermarkets if not then more specified bath supply stores. I got a 5lb bag at the grocery store. but smaller amounts can likly be found among the various seasonings in the baking isles.

Hello everyone. I've got a question that maybe you guys could help me with. I don't know if this has ever been asked, either by me or someone else, but I've really been curious about this.

When setting up an altar, and you want to put up an image of the Goddess and the God, what kinds of things short of printing images off the internet can you use? This might sound really silly, but can you either use or make dolls, maybe making something out of a material that can easily be taken apart? I live with my parents and am very much in the broom closet, so it would be really wise to not keep things that would catch their attention.

I have my own ideas, like using old Barbie dolls, of course blessed/purified before using for that purpose, but I'm still really unsure.

If anyone has any ideas, that would be a major help. Thank you so much! n.n

~ What I would do personally is having an item that relates to your gods/goddess Like EX: An owl for Athena.. A bow for Artemis.. A trident for Poseidon.. A lightning bolt for Zeus.. ETC.

My mom droped off her purches to me last night. She actually got me two candles with attatched 'jewlery' I'm still very excited to have a pentacle (I think its pewter) I'll be giving it a moon bath if nothing else. (right now the weather looks good for it) I guess she was also asking about eagle feathers.. I had to remind her that those particular items are tricky especily where boarders are concerned there are places where it is illegal for non natives to posses certain types of eagle feathers the commercily packaged sage smudging thing would have been difficult enough for her to explain, fortunatly she wasn't asked. (my mom is in her early sixties, and still thinks lol is lots of love..just picture it. /face palm) Oh, the sage is blue not white like she thought origionaly.

Welcome DeckofCards! always great to see new members :)

I want to say something of joy for me- tomorrow morning (where I live- at 7:13) the Harvest moon is at it's height and this is not only a joy that I will see it but also that tomorrow is my birthdays and the harvest moon will be at it's height only two and a half hours before my birth time - this is the first year I am aware of that there has been a full moon on my birth date :) Also- the Harvest Moon is also called the Singing moon - I thought that was very interesting.

Mabon is coming up! this Sunday to be exact! I'm beginning to decorate my alter with acorns and aspen leaves that have fallen, I am also going to make Mabon treats this year- banana bread ( a recipe I got from an actual Wiccan Cookbook I recently acquired that separates recipes from each other based on the sabbats the food should be prepared for) and also a kind of Mabon cider (the recipe I received from good ol' tumblr) I will be making the bread tonight or tomorrow night to be able to bring some to school to share with friends- especially the other two Wiccan friends I know ( how is it that all the Wiccans at my high school know each other so well?) This will be a great rest of the week :)

by the way- here is the cider recipe;

^ I'm gonna leave out the cloves- bleh :)

How about everyone else? any plans??
