Tri and Citrus, through their parents, met each other when they were both barely old enough to walk. They have been best of friends for as long as they can remember - or, perhaps, a little more.

Hey there little bird...
I have a favor I wanna ask.
Can you tell me how it feels to fly?

"One day, Magpie, I'm gonna grow some wings and fly away from this place."

That was the promise you made, so many years ago. That determined vow that only I and the barren walls around us heard; and it made me smile then, as much as it makes me smile today when I remember it. There was such a passionate fire burning in your eyes as you gazed up at the clear blue sky, so different from the brown soil that was the adoption center - our home. Our prison.

"Well, little bird - if you're gonna do that, I'll have to sprout a pair as well so I can follow you."

That had made you smile so bright; and you had laughed a laugh I had never before heard, and it filled me with a warmth and love so unlike anything I had felt. And with that laugh my determination was sealed; if you ever grew wings I too would have to, so I could forever protect that laugh of yours.

"Look Magpie - look! They've grown, they've grown!"

"Wow little bird; that's quite the pair of wings you've got there."

Oh and they truly were a wonder. They were smaller then average, but that was fine - you were smaller then average yourself. Watching you fly for the first time was a truly splendid sight. Though you longed to be free of the prison we were kept in, you promised to wait - to stay with me until I grew my own pair that would allow me to follow you to freedom.

"Oh, Magpie...."

"...It's...it's fine, little bird. They're just a little young yet; they'll grow, just you wait. You go ahead, alright? I've grown them at the least - it's just a matter of waiting til they're big enough to carry me. That'll come with time. You fly off now - go explore, so by the time I'm able to join you you'll be able to teach me all you've learned. I'll be right behind you; don't worry..."

Fly high and fly far, little bird.
I'll be right behind you.
Always behind you;
And that's where I'll stay.

"Look, Kita, I'm sorry...But...look at yah! I love yah, babe, I really do - and tha' was all fine and dandy, back when we wuz both jus' whelps. But I'm all grown up, and yer...yer still jus' a pup. An' yeh always will be. I'm real sorry babe, but I gotta find a woman my size, if yeh know what I mean..."

And then the witch doctor, he gave me this advice
He said to...

"Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang!
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang...!"
