Aine looked at the boy wide eyed. "But... yes I do. I can't just leave." She had never thought of running away before; she had known nothing more than life with her father, the pain, misery, and fear he inflicted. The thought of just staying away was frightening, but at the same time, thrilling.

Hazuki narrowed her eyes and moved away from Lily. "Just go away. I'm fine. I already told you, I don't want your pity."

Damien sighed. "Yes. you. can. What has he ever done for you? I bet nothing. Just leave him and leave. he won't fine you."

"Its not pity" Lily sighed. Her throat was starting to really burn, but she forced herself to talk out loud.

Aeonus arched an eyebrow at Lily, putting his hand on her back. "You shouldn't be talking." he said softly.

Onyxia was still blushing darkly as she smiled, still hugging him.

"Yes it is! I don't need people worrying or pitying me! I've been fine on my own and I still am!" Hazuki was even more angry now.

"But...," Aine was at a loss for words. "Yes he would...," she said quietly. Aine thought of how especially agressive her father had become once her Grace had surfaced; when he woke up one morning to find one of her eyes turned silver. He would never let her leave him, not when she was a Graceling; he would hunt her down and bring her home. "And where would I go?" Aine added inquistively.

Lily sighed "There is a difference between understanding and pity."

Aeonus rubbed her back and kissed her temple. "I'll tell her what you say. Just stop using your voice, you'll hurt yourself." he murmured.

Onyxia blushed a bit more as she looked at his face.
