Crestpaw dropped his kill in the pile and licked down his fur, oblivious to the danger his clan mates were in.

Vaporpaw panicked and ran back to camp looking around for help. She saw Crestpaw and called out to him from across the fresh-kill pile. "Crestpaw! Theres a badger near the stone path and only Tornear's there to defend it-"

Crestpaw sprang up, surprised by Vaporpaw's words and the fact she was speaking. He dashed over to her,"Lead the way" He mewed to her, ready for action.

Normally, Vaporpaw wouldn't say anything but the clan was in danger. She ran back to where Tornear was waiting and stopped, signaling with her tail for Crestpaw to stop as well. "Shhh. ." she whispered.

Crestpaw stopped, moving silently forward. Should I attack now? Wait for Tornear? He thought desperately.

Vaporpaw gave Crestpaw a look before deciding to jump in. She pounced onto the badgers back sinking her teeth in.

Crestpaw leaped for the badger's snout, clawing at its face furiously. He dug his teeth into it's snout and the badger shook its head wildly.

Since Vaporpaw was small she was thrown off easily but wasn't hurt too badly. She got into a hunting position again this time leaping for the animals legs, hoping to make him lose his balance.

Crestpaw let go, but kept distracting the badger. He didn't want it's mouth to get to close to Vaporpaw, so he clawed at its back.
