im Quite worried about Armageddon. He's going on 3 and is really starting to slow down.Though he is still mostly healthy. He has no signs of tumors and no signs of being sick at all.

I am snuggling my baby Erma right now <3 I am really upset we had to put down my first and much loved rat Luna her tumors were getting to big and she was really old (she was 3) I miss her but I'm glad that I don't have to worry about her being in pain anymore I am getting a new rat soon I don't know if I should get a male or female (they would be nurtured because male's genitals are a bit big DX and also getting them nurtured apparently helps with tumors later one) I would like to get a fawn colored one or a dumbo one but any rat as long as it's healthy is fine

Delilah and Teyha turned 2 this summer! I never got Delilah's tumors removed. There is only two and their not getting bigger or spreading, and they don't bother her. Plus she weezes - she was on medication for that and it didn't work - and she's getting older.. I just didn't think it was fair to her to put her through the pain of surgery. She's getting skinnier though even though she has a ton of food..
Teyha is still healthy as ever.

I think these two are my last pair of rats though. I had bad luck with Zeus, and then bad luck with these guys and it makes me sad. There aren't any breeders around here so any rat I get is from a pet store and they always turn out sick. Teyha is the only healthy one I have and she bites. It's been a great time having them but it kills me to see my animals not feeling well. :c

I had the same problem with one of my rats. I got two girls for my 16th birthday from a pet store and by the time the one was two and a half she started wheezing and got thin. The vet said he thought it might be pneumonia, which can be treated with medicine. I caught hers too late, though, and had to get her put down. Now my other rat is showing signs, too, but I'm hoping it isnt too late for her. She hasn't lost the weight.

She is also the one I mentioned was mourning a few weeks back. Since then I got three more babies, a fancy and two dumbo <3 She's doing so much better now that she has company.

Armageddon has started to lose weight. He's not eating as much as he normally does... I'm worried but dont have the money to visit the vet at the moment.
