I don't know, I personally think the boats should be stopped. Australia, excluding the desert areas, is becoming highly populated. We'll end up like China. OVER populated. Many of my friends are legitimate refugees, but they took the time to go through all the stuff to get on planes and such legally.

Anyway, liberal is bad for the people who don't earn a lot. My mother was so upset it's devestating.

I really can't believe that TONY ABBOTT is the new Pm! DX
So many cuts!
And now they have to redo all the NBN here in Tassie because it is no longer going to be fibre optic cable and they have already wired up almost everywhere!
You’ve got a good heart. Don’t ever lose it.

*Snarl* That Abbott's going to ruin the lives of all the little working people in Australia! I reckon he's the modern day persona of the 'Sheriff of Nottingham'! (or King John, either way you'd probably get what I mean.)

Australia has one of the lowest densities of people per capita in the world.. we also have an economy second to very few in the world, one of the lowest unemployment rates and it's one of the few countries who pay people that are unemployed and just live off the 'dole'

... I really do not think we are at risk of becoming overpopulated, especially not compared to china....

During the period of Labor as government we had around 49,000 people come by boat and before that during the Howard government, a ridcoulousy small figure (like 50-500?)

I personally am not a fan of either Rudd or Abbot, I reckon their policies are all talk and they spend most of our tax payer dollars trying to convince the public not to vote for the other clown, and both waltz around taking the mickey out of each other like a highschool popularity contest.

I really wish Uni fees would be eradicated like labour did before the 90s.. gay marriage would also be lovely. And I'm glad they got rid of the baby bonus.. if anything we would become overpopulated because of the amount of "australian" (not true Australian, like the original custodians of the land the Aboriginal people) bogans who got knocked up just to buy a flat screen.... the baby bonus was orignially 9 grand, can you believe it?? xD;;

I have received 9 gifts.

I agree that the baby bonus was ridiculous. Gay marriage would be so good. And what I mean by overpopulated is the fact that all the areas around where I live is becoming over crowded. I don't mean to be racist either, but in my neighbourhood it's become a game of 'spot the white aussie'. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of black friends, but this is supposed to be a multicultural area. What's worse is that a lot of them are really racist, acting supereor to we white kids, especially at school. But that's really not the point.
If I'm honest, I preffered Julia.

i dunno homies but i just really hope we get better candidates next election

@maerorem how does race = overpopulation?? ^^"
idk man i'm a bit confused as to what you're saying? Like are you saying that there are too many people living in one area or are you saying that there's too much of one ethnicity living in your area? because to me it sounds like the latter.

Julia was as a Prime Minister, OKAY, but her biggest flaw was the fact that she was a submissive politician and a puppet to her own party's desires... and as for boat people I actually think we should let them in because let us not forget that we are a SMALL country, therefore statistics are smaller and there are only some many places people are willing to live, even for refugees from hot climates, mankind is selfish, and they too, although from extreme climates would like to live in the more inhabitable climates. Also not only that but there are only so many houses for rent (assuming once free that is their first option) and places like Brisbane (where I live) are gaining any more houses or estates any time soon... also as a little rant I have found that in Brisbane there are only two types of rentals, ones that are affordable but are either too small, old or REALLY run down or liveable but too expensive. :c

I favour Tony Abbot. You've got to be cruel to be kind, in all honesty. Jobs have to be cut to pull us out of the massive grave of debt that Kevin dragged us into, so our future generations aren't paying more tax than they have to.
