Winterkit looked over at his so called 'mother' and Rainkit and sighed. He got up leaving the den to them.

"Take a pick from the fresh-kill pile, little one. I need to go and speak to you're brother, Winterkit." Whispersky sighed and got up, going over to the small kit and sitting down. "Son... I promised myself I'd be the best I can be for you, to be the mother you can love and rely on. You have a sister now, why aren't you happy?"

"Winterkit, I love you even though you aren't my real kit. When I was you're age, I lost my mother and father as well. I felt so alone until a pretty, loving she-cat named Larkflower adopted me into her family and made me her own daughter after she had lost all of her kits. I know how you feel Winterkit, and I want to be you're mother because I know exactly what you are going through." She said softly, licking his ear.
