"Well look who's out of the hospital!"

As Jade staggered out of the hospital, leaning heavily on her newly acquired cane, she looked up to see the Elite 4 standing there. Aaron, Bertha, Flint and... Where was Lucian? She suddenly felt flustered. "Um... Hi?" She greeted, unsure of what to do.

Flint chuckled. "Surprised?" He teased, stepping over to her. "Anyways, Drifblimd owner to Drifblim owner, how are you holding up? I heard that your fight with Darkrai was really tough." He asked.

Jade sighed a bit. "They couldn't fix the muscle damage, so my leg's not ever gonna heal properly. Need a cane to get around. Other than that, I'm fine." She replied, eyes darkening a bit.

Flint nodded. "Sorry to hear that. But there's no time to mourn now, not when you've got a brand new job waiting for you!" A smile returned to his face.

Jade cocked her head a bit. "N-new job? What about Sunnyshore? What about my Gym?" She asked, her voice growing higher as she started to grow frantic.

Aaron stepped forwards. "You can't go back. Rumor has it that Team Galactic is searching for you, and we can't have them coming to Sunnyshore to find you. We're moving you somewhere else, somewhere much safer." He explained.

Jade just nodded, tears gathering in her eyes. She threw a Pokeball in the air and Floaty popped out. She quickly hopped onto his head and was soon accompanied by Flint on his own Drifblim. She put her cane across her lap as they took off, Aaron and Bertha following bellow on their Drapion and Hippodown respectively.

Flint looked over at Jade. "They aren't just rumors. Cities all over Sinnoh have reported seeing Galactic members prowling around, and an undercover agent named Looker reported hearing one of them saying 'No sign of Jade here either, clear out.' As you can see, we can't risk you going back to your Gym." He explained.

Jade nodded. "So where are you taking me?" She asked.

Flint smiled a bit. Oh, she was gonna love this.

"How would you feel about joining the Elite 4?"

Good, but you spelled Driftblim wrong at one point. X3
Speaking of Flint, his team in DP is epic proof of how tiny the original Sinnoh Pokedex was. (Fire-type E4 person, only two of his five Pokemon are actually Fire-type...)

although, I'm not sure how I feel about the mega evolutions yet, I'll have an opion when I see them in play for myself. I really like pokemon amie though ^^

When I first saw the mega evolution of mewtwo, I thought it was like a new version and I was very disappointed, but when I learned about the mega evolutions, I was really excited. :3 I love mega evolution absol and ampharos!

When I first saw the mega evolution of mewtwo, I thought it was like a new version and I was very disappointed, but when I learned about the mega evolutions, I was really excited. :3 I love mega evolution absol and ampharos!

Personally I would have been upset if it was another "version" of mewtwo as they already used that plotline when creating mewtwo so it'd only go downhill if they done that. ^^;;

SPOILERS FOR VARIOUS POKEMON MOVIES BELOW YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Sometimes I think people don't give Ash enough love.

I've been watching a lot of Pokemon movies lately. In order of how I watched them, here's the list.

Mewtwo Strikes Back
Mewtwo Returns
Pokemon the Movie 2000: The Power of One
Arceus and the Jewel of Life
Pokemon the Movie 3: Spell of the Unown

And in all of them, Ash has been pretty freaking epic and done some amazing things. Some of them are reckless and I'll admit, pretty dumb, but he still does them no matter what the consequences are.

Mewtwo Strikes Back

Despite Mewtwo being, as said in the movie, the most powerful Pokemon of all time, Ash still ran up and tried to punch him. Later, Ash jumped in between Mewtwo and Mew's battle, sacrificing himself to get them to stop fighting. This is easily one of Ash's best moments, if not the best. He was willing to get himself killed if it meant stopping the fight.

Mewtwo Returns

Despite not remembering Mewtwo because his memories were erased, Ash still carried Mewtwo to the healing springs. When asked why, he said not only did Mewtwo save his Pikachu, but asked if there was a reason why he shouldn't help, and if people needed reasons to help others.

Pokemon the Movie 2000: The Power of One

Ash has to save the world from Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno. He rides Lugia, which is amazing enough in itself, and is shown crying when he thinks he can't do it. This shows that he doesn't think he's the greatest, like some other people would if asked to do this. He's scared of failing, but he still does it anyways. Later, after he is knocked into the ocean and gets knocked out and Misty revives him, he still feels he needs to do what he's supposed to do despite the fact that he's hurt. When he stands up, he nearly falls over again but refuses anybody's help and says "Lemme go, I've gotta do this", despite the fact that he's obviously in pain. He obviously values the safety of the planet over his own wellbeing, shown when he collapses again and gets right back up.

Arceus and the Jewel of Life

Ash runs into the battle between Giratina and Dialga to calm Giratina down. This could've ended with him being obliterated, and he knew that, but he still did it. Later, Pikachu has been erased from time and Arceus is dying. Ash is starting to slowly disappear, but instead of crying for himself or the future that will cease to exist, he cries because he doesn't want Arceus to leave this world still hating humans. This shows that he cared more about Arceus being safe then the fact that him and his friends were essentially dying.

Pokemon the Movie 3: Spell of the Unown

Ash protects Pikachu from Entei's Fire Blast, sending them both hurtling through a wall. While he's falling, we can see that he's put Pikachu on the top so that if they had hit the ground, he would've hit the ground first.

Ash is a really great guy. I just hate going on Facebook and seeing people rip him apart and saying how Red is better. Sure, if Ash and Red ever battled it would obviously be Red to come out on top. But Ash has done some braver things than Red, which some people seem to forget. Sure he's not the most powerful trainer, but that doesn't mean he isn't an awesome character. Ash has saved the world many times, even thought he isn't the best trainer out there. Have Lance, Cynthia, Gary or even Red saved the world as many times as Ash has?

And when Ash isn't off saving the world, he still saves Pokemon. What about the first time he met Sewaddle? He took hits for it and jumped into a raging river to save it. He protected Pikachu when they first met even though Pikachu constantly made fun of him and didn't listen to him. He saved Charmander from the rain even though he'd never met Charmander before. He was willing to let Pikachu go with the other Pikachu, no matter how much the parting hurt. He even let his Butterfree, the first Pokemon he'd ever captured, leave to start a family even though it made everybody sad.

Ash needs more love. <3

I respect Red more than Ash. I respect all of your points but here is my consent:

The point where you said Ash has been willing to sacrifice his own life or "Saved the world" a lot more than Red has is untrue.

Red himself almost drowned 2 times, he is cryogenically frozen by those who don't like his refusal to help them wipe out humanity. He is put into many situations where he is forced to act or people will die. He is even involved in situations where something's death is required for safety.

*Stopping Lt. Surge from stealing Pokemon
*Stops Team Rocket's Moltres before it starts killing people
*Stops Koga from killing Blue by battling an Articuno
*Stops the combined form of Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno from wreaking destruction upon a town
*Captures Mewtwo
*Becomes Pokemon League Champion
*Defeats a member of the Elite Four
*Sacrifices himself to save Deoxys
These are all examples of events that required considerable skill to achieve and have happened over the course of 352 manga chapters.

As you can see there are several, several more events where Red has 'Saved the day'.

Other;;

Unlike Ash, Red obtained a majority of his Pokemon through their capture or trade. Only a few exceptions to this rule exist and they are Bulbasaur and Aerodactyl. Bulbasaur was given to him by Professor Oak as a starter, it is customary for a Pokemon Trainer in this series to receive a starter, and Aerodactyl was resurrected using an Old Amber that was given to him.

On the other hand Ash received many of his Pokemon by way of charity or friendship. Here are the numerous examples in the order that they are listed on the Bulbapedia article:
*Pikachu - given to him as a starter [2]
*Turtwig - It chose to travel with him after trying to defend wild Pok�mon [3]
*Chimchar - Chose to join Ash willingly after its trainer released it [4]
*Bulbasaur - Is asked to join Ash by its original owner [5]
*Heracross - It joins him after he helps with one of its disputes [6]
*Chikorita - Chooses to join Ash over Team Rocket [7]
*Phanpy - Hatched from an egg given to him. [1]

Go ahead and read the full post if you want however note that it's a debate about whether the anime should have followed Red and not Ash however the points I picked out I felt were relevant. )

However much I respect Ash, I respect Red a LOT more for all of these reasons above.

I don't read the manga nor do I watch the anime (just some episodes), but I don't think it really matters how you get your pokemon. At least I don't think that it proves that you are a stronger trainer if you capture them yourself and I think it's even better that the pokemon choose to accompany Ash (like N).
I like Ash, but I like most of the characters in movie/games/animes anyway, but I think my favourite from the pokemon anime is Meowth and Jessie and James, I would probably also love N, but I didn't watch any episode with him yet (can't really pronounce Meowth, he is Mauzi for me).

I do because I feel it shows a stronger trainer if you can catch your own pokémon rather than have them given to you. It's harder to catch than receive.

I guess it's all personal preference to which you prefer. I was just stating why I prefered Red over Ash. x3
