Lizzie paused, then started to speak slowly. "Well...for example...say I stayed over at Rory's house?" She watched him carefully.

"I have no problem with you staying at his house. You're old enough to make your won decisions, just don't lie about them," he said. "I'll let it go this time, but that only means twice the punishment next time you lie," he said.

Lizzie sighed in relief. "Okay, good. Thanks, Dad." She paused, then grinned and blurted, "I'm engaged."

"So how was your anniversary?" He asked.

Lizzie laughed. "Did you not hear what I just told you?"

Lizzie grinned widely and nodded. "Rory proposed!" she exclaimed excitedly.
