I guess we can just meet up. ]
JAKE DOWLEY
[ Male ] [ Seventeen ] [ Lapsos ] [ Crushing on... ]
Jake hurried down the street, risking a glance behind him. Two large men, clad in fully black oufits, similar to him, where walking down the street. Their identicle icey gazes drilled into him. He took in an intake of breath, holding it in and biting his lip. dammit. He knew he shouldn't have talked to them about trying to reach any Candidus; they obviously despised them, especially how they got to keep their luminescent wings, while the Lapsos had to have dark feathers shadow them for an eternity. Trembling slightly, Jake shoved his hands into his jacket pockets, trying to stop looking so terrified. Those men were huge compared to him! He was so short and young.
Breathing out, Jake continued to hurry down the footpath, ocasionally looking over his shoulder once again. They were getting closer. He knew they would catch him eventually, he'd already tried to go into large crowds and slip down alleyways, but they always found him.
Just up ahead, a door opened and a girl stepped out. She left the door to drift behind her and Jake caught it and swung himself inside, closing the door and hearing the click of the lock. He then sprinted up the stairs, taking them two at a time, and eventually, got to the top of the apartment building. The heavy footsteps from below made Jake's skin crawl and he removed his hands from his pockets, his fingers trembling. There was absolutely nowhere to go; he'd gotten himself stuck.
An idea formed inside his head and his heart raced with new excitement. Jake warily shuffled over to the edge of the building, looking downwards. He stumbled back, the ground was so far down and the world swayed. This time, he crawled over and his fingers gripped the edge, white with the force of his grip. Then Jake turned around and lowered himself down, squeesing his eyes shut and letting go.
Falling again, how cliche. It terrified him, but he endured it until his feet hit a metal surface; the fire escape, yes! The force of the fall sent him sprawling backwards and he heard the door of the roof burst open, clattering onto the concrete surface. A few gruff mumblings reached his ears and then a loud, sharp curse brought a grin on his face.
After then making his way down the stairwell, Jake exited out onto the street. He then continued down the street; instead of hanging his head, he held it up high and meet people's gazes with his own ocean-coloured eyes. Tricking those two men brought back some of his usual self, confidence now coursed through him. Glancing into a window of a small cafe, he stopped in his tracks.
Wait- was that another Lapsos? Surely, not. That girl looked absolutely normal, but Jake's wings tingled inside of him, just proving the point that this girl could be one of him. Maybe they could work together... Jake stood outside the window and stared at her, frozen in place and unsure of what to do next.
CLEMENTINE EVANS
[ Female ] [ Sixteen ] [ Mortalis ] [ Crushing on... ]
Clementine groaned as the realisation of waking aroused her from sleep. She'd been enjoying having a rest for once; it's like her friends never needed to recharge as they would call up at midnight or some ungodly hour. Ugh. The curtains that fell over her frosty window filtered the light and changed it to a warm plum colour on the plush carpet. She sighed and decided to get up, since she was awake anyways, there was no point in trying to get back to sleep. She hauled herself out of bed and blinked her eyes, her senses slowly regaining themselves. When she got onto her feet, she swayed for a second and then moved to her cupboards, pulling on a pair of dark red jeans and her black and white striped, long sleeve top.
Shuffling into the open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area, Clementine sluggishly opened the cupboards, in search of anything for breakfast. She managed to find a bagel and toasted it, munching on it while she retreated to the bathroom. Wow. Her hair looked absolutely horrible! Running her hairbrush through her golden locks, the girl managed to tame her wild curls and pulled them into a thick plait that ran down her shoulder. Placing a woolen beanie ontop of her head, she glimsped at herself in the mirror and escaped her house.
“Hello, Sarah! Hello, Marble!” Clementine gave a small wave to a young girl with a crazy amount of red hair upon her head and a large, chocolate dog. She continued down the street, pulling her hands into her sleeves, the morning air chilling her skin. As she breathed out, her breath made little clouds, bringing a small smile to play along her lips.
