I smiled and sat my board and suitcase on my bed. "Thanks," I say starting to unpack. "So what classes are you taking?" I say trying to start up a conversation. Usually I try to talk the least I possibly can when I first meet someone, but I'm going to be living with this guy for quite some time, so I might as well get to know him. I guess right now the biggest thing I'm worried about is that he's just like everyone else I've gone to school with. Not wanting to talk to me just because of how I look. I mean, I understand if he's a bit skeptical at first, I'm just hoping he's not scared of me like most people at my public school were.

Lily clutched some books under her arm and had her back pack swung over a shoulder. She made her way out her room and along the corridor, she loved to read in outside in the fresh air. She pushed through the door and out into the open. She hadn't made many friends here so maybe she should give it a try. She turned her head to see a girl sitting by a tree. Taking a breath she let a smile come onto her face as she walked over towards her, Lily tried to look friendly, maybe if she didn't look like a nerdy bookworm it would help her to make some friends. As she walked over she smiled wider "Hey, my name is Lily, Lily Chang. I just came over to have someone to have a chat with."

Abbi turned towards where she assumed the girl was. "Oh, uh, hi.... my name's Abbi... nice to meet you?" She brushed a bit of hair behind her ear. She knew her cheeks were probably bright red, as usual, when she was talking with someone. She gripped her cane, which was laying on the ground beside her, in her hand, trying to ignore the slight burning in her cheeks. She began to worry, what if her shoes were on the wrong feet? What if she had food between her teeth? What if her shirt was stained? She blushed even more, and looked down slightly.

Lily suddenly narrowed her eyes and looked at the girl. She let out a small gasp as she saw the cane, suddenly she realized the truth, she was blind! Lily felt a bit happy, at least she couldn't see what she looked like. She smiled "Hi Abbi, nice to meet you too"! Lily suddenly drew back a bit as Abbi blushed, she felt nervous. Lily felt like she had said or done something to embarrass her, she was never good at making friends.

Kaitlin continued her aimless walk down the boys' dorms (Sam's and Colby's), at this point feeling rather ignored, and eventually jus sat down against a wall in front of one of the dorm rooms. Pulling her phone and a tangled pair of earbuds. Connecting the two she placed each bud in her ears and scrolled through her music. After selecting one somg she particularly favored she smiled leaned her head on the wall behind her and before long she was hitng her hand against the floor to the same beat of the song, not realizing how hard she was hitting the floor, she was making a loud pounding sound against the floor, so just continued to hit the floor. A small smile pressed across her lips as she listened to her songs play loudly in her ears.

Abbi blushed and looked down, feeling a bit ashamed. "So, umm...." She said, blushing. She wondered if this girl would dislike her, because she was blind. No, she thought, that's silly. No one is that cruel.... Abbi's thoughts drifted to one of her previous highschools, where a clique of girls had constantly made fun of her due to her blindness. Abbi pushed the cane back a bit, out of sight. "Umm, how are you?" She asked, her voice slightly shaky.

Lily shrugged, "I'm fine... Just as fine as any high school student can be. She swung her bag down and put her books next to her before settling down beside Abbi. "High school is tough isn't it? Especially when you are a 'geeky bookworm' like me you're not exactly going to have the easiest life." Lily sighed "You see all those 'popular' girls, they're just rich and pretty... I mean some girls could be prettier! In my world all those girls are fakes, they just hide under expensive clothes and make up.
