My fur prickles, and I forgo hiding. I stand, my emerald orbs blazing with a defiant fire. Despite my hungry state, I find myself feeling strong, stronger than I have in some time. Who is this wolf, this wolf who dares to disturb me?! I run my tongue over the top of my mouth, before ripping back my lips to show my long, flashing ivories. Fight, not flight, is the instinct that holds me fast within it's tight rein. I snarl rumbles through my body, challenging the other brutes warning. I am here, and I am ready.

Ears pulling back, I spot the protruding wolf. I couldn't yet judge his size, from this distance, but he seemed to be about the same size. Deciding it would be better to approach, I soon find myself halting from a trot, only short distance away. I kept my head high and tail low, only enabling the view of my stern face through the long golden grass. If this wolf wanted to dispute, they'd come to me.
