My dog is a 8 y/o wire-haired Dachshund, he's quite bonkers but in a positive way and I love him to death <3
He's grown a weird, hard knob below his ear/on his cheek, and since nobody really knows what it is, the vet said it needs to be removed just to avoid dangers. 8 years isn't that old for a Dachsie and he doesn't have any heart problems so the anesthesia risks aren't that high, but I'm still worried. It feels so weird to know there's no 100% guarantee he'll ever wake up again. And then, of course there's the concern of the knob being a malignant tumor.

^I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm sure he will be just fine. Try not to worry too much over it because it might cause a lot of stress and then it could be just over nothing. I know you are fairly concerned and I wish you the best of luck and I hope he recovers quickly.


As for the expression, I'd like Tomahawk to kind of have that 'lovestruck' expression If that's at all possible. If not..just do whatever c:

We have taken him home, he's awake now, well, depends on what is considered "awake"...he's woken up from the anesthesia but he's now sleeping next to me on my bed and snoozing. Whenever he tries to walk it looks like he's drunk. ; c
The vet said it was a complicated surgery, we left him there at 8:15 so she probs started at 8:45 and stopped at 10:30. But he's okay, though the vet still doesn't know about the knob, she'll send it to pathology so we'll see. Just glad he's with me now. <3
