" Dark magic?" Galus asked Nico.

"Its dark elements, I have every volume of the corrupted parts of elements on my shelves." He said pointing to the bookshelves behind him.

" Fwho needs books for those things?" Galus asked Nico. " Not trying to sound rude or anything,"

"I never knew the power of the corrupted element...until that one faithful day." Nico replied more emotionally than he had ment for it to be, he hadn't really ever talked about it with anyone before.

" ' One faithful day'? Fwhat day do you mean by that?" Galus asked him, tilting his head to the side.

"My homeland has corruption all underneath it..." He replied looking up at the books."I'm sure you don't want to hear me go on about it."

Well, when I was about fourteen....which wasn't too long ago, my lusus had told me not to venture out into the Badlands that day, to stay home. I didn't listen, it was cold, my siblings and the other lusi needed food, it was pretty scarce in the winter anyway," He continued before pulling out another book from the very top of the shelf.




(Everyone gets dragged down to a sort of corrupted underworld beneath the badlands before they're allowed to leave.)

" Fwhy didn't he fwan't you to go? He must be insane, letting them starve!" Galus growled.

"Arol was perfectly sane, he had seen signs that were far worse than hunger."He replied getting the book down,"Anyway I had grabbed my pistols and headed out into the snow covered terrain, trying to search for some source of food but then suddenly out of no where something grabbed me." He opened the book and flipped through some pages.
