Despite my current distress, I found myself wanting to laugh at Ren's current appearance. Still, I couldn't help but continue to squirm uncomfortably as I fought to break or at least loosen the rope that kept my wrists bound. I hated being restricted like this. After realizing I wasn't accomplishing anything I pinned Ren with a cold glare. "Get rid of the rope."

Ren didn't even run a hand through his hair to straighten it like he normally did in the mornings. He kept Damon in a soft, stern look, then slowly said, "are you gonna run off?" he wanted to keep doggie boy here. He could be a lot of help. He was going to use Jinx against me? Oh now that wasn't even fair! He said I wouldn't be getting the feather though, right? So what if I did run? Would he chase me down and tie me up again? Feeling slightly panicked I began relying on my instincts to guide me which was the worst possible idea because every fiber of my being was screaming at me to run. When I felt the rope beginning to give way, I immediately snapped it with a quick jerk of my arms and took off into the trees. How fast could a sleepy Ren run? Hopefully not fast enough to catch me.

Ren had been expecting this. No doubt he'd try to take off. He snapped out his wings, and in a matter of seconds he was tackling Damon's waist, using his momentum to drag both of them to the ground. Ren hit the floor on his side, and sprang back up to sit on the Eraser's chest. The movement had only made his bad hair situation a bit worse, tossing some free strands into his eyes.

I should have known that this plan wouldn't have worked out. Now I had a little birdie on my chest and it didn't look very happy or well groomed. My breathing came out in harsh pants as a result of the adrenaline rushing through me. "There was a squirrel and I really wanted to chase it." Now wasn't the time to be acting like my usual cocky self but come on, he was just asking for it. Seeing as my mouth was covered I only raised an eyebrow in response.
