The Inheritance Cycle is both a series and fantasy themed. There is only four books, but still rather long. In order, they are Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance.

{{Grrr... accidently posted to the old biblomaniacs...}}

I've done so little reading over the past few weeks! I read The Island of Dr. Moreau (Creepy!) and Breakfast of Champions (words cannot describe the strangeness in that book) reread Psycho, read two special edition magazines (Remembering John Lennon and The 100 Most Influential People Who Never Lived), and tried to read my copy of Erewhon, but the print was so small it hurt my eyes.

My granny gave me the first book back when I was six... Christmas break of first grade, I think. I immediately wanted more. XD While all of my classmates were still struggling with Captain Underpants, I was negotiating the librarian to let me check out NDs. (my school had this absolutely idiotic system where every grade had books they were allowed to check out, and none of the little kids could check out real books, no matter what your actual reading level was... hated that with a burning passion)

I hated not being able to check out real books as a little kid! Until 4th grade we were stuck with picture books and those "chapter" books that are twenty pages long. I remember reading every American Girl book dozens of times because those were the most advanced books I could get. XD I could have easily read any of the 4-6 books, but those were in the upstairs part of the library. In third grade, the librarians said that I could ask them for any book upstairs that I wanted to read. Would have been helpful if I had known what books were up there...

I am looking for a not too long book. Maybe around 300-400 pages, and I just want it to be fantasy. I do not shy away from anything in that category. :)

Green Rider by Kristen Britain might be a good choice for you. ^^ The first book and the entire series share the same name. They're a relatively generic sort of fantasy, but well-written and with convincing characters. The female protagonist is a bit unusual within its genre, though sometimes she's so dense you'll see the plot turns coming chapters before she figures it out.
The Name of the Wind series by Patrick Rothfuss is also awesome if you don't mind an obnoxious protagonist. Personally I loved it, but the majority of the negative reviews focus on the fact that the main character is a know-it-all poster boy, with all the unbelievable talents of Harry Potter and three times more incredible luck. The prose is quite engaging, though, and the world is well fleshed-out.
The Sea of Trolls is a pretty good YA book that doesn't really read like YA fic. The mythology behind it is Norse, but mostly absent of the pantheon and with an interesting take on the Jotuns. ^^ The next books in the series, well... I'd read the first one. XD

I'd highly recommend The Sea of Trolls. It's excellent, though the sequels are... not as good... It doesn't read at all like fantasy, though, and portrays everything in a pretty believable way. It may be slightly longer than what you're looking for, though. If I remember it was 500 some pages...

Technically 459 pages, but with a relatively simple vocabulary and prose that flows. It's an easy read, not quite Harry Potter but very simple. Also, as I recall, the paragraph/page structure meant every page contained fewer words than I was expecting.
It looks intimidatingly thick, but reads very shortly.

A friend of my mine recommended that I could try out Marked by P.C Cast,
but I am sure about it, it seems like a sloppy romance book, maybe a twilight 2.0.
Anyone read the series house of nights?

I am useally into fantasy-action books or horror books
