'Maybe it was just my imagination...' Scarlett reasoned that she was just jumpy after that sneak attack from Kiko. She looked at Kira and said, "Let's follow her to the river, shall we? I'm still dying to take a swim." Without waiting for a response from him she trotted off in its general direction.

Talab was only just finsihing his drink and planning to leave, when suddenly and voice popped out from nowhere. "Hi!" it said. He got a fright, freezing in fear, before only a second later was he metres back, rump against a tree. A vicious, defence snarl ripped through his throat and out his teeth, as the dragon in front of him looked at him in shock.

Kiko looked up at the other dragon with wide eyes. "Oh wow. I'm sorry! Did I scare you? I do that sometimes. Apparently I'm really good at sneaking up on people, it makes me a little creepy when I just 'pop' out of nowhere, and start talking. Oh no, I'm still talking, aren't I? Sorry!" Kiko stopped for a moment and looked expectantly up at the other dragon. She smiled.

Talab just stood there, staring with wide eyes at this unbelieveably loud and confronting dragon. After blabbing some random rubbish he didn't understand, she bared her teeth in a bright grin. It was welcoming, of course, but Talab wasn't used to being part of a clan or even speaking to other dragons. He held his breath and nodded, looking around to see if any others were approaching.
As the dragon in front continued to grin, she looked like she was expecting something. So Talab turned up the corners of his mouth in a tiny, very short, smile.

Scarlett was approaching the river when she heard a snarl rip through the woods. "Kiko!" she cried, running towards the dragon, ready to defend her. "Are you alright?" she asked when she reached her side. Wait. There was that smell again. She turned and saw a dragon she'd never seen before pressed against a tree. 'He blends right in! Wait, is he smiling?' Confused, Scarlett tensed, debating what to do. She didn't know what this dragon's intentions were.

Just as he smiled, a dragon came tearing toward them, throwing herself in front of the shedragon in front of him. She had a defending look on her face as she glared at him, causing his smile to falter. He went back to fear, bearing his teeth again and pressing furhtur onto the tree. What will she do to me? he thought.

Kiko laughed. "Calm down, both of you! This was just a big mistake! I accidentally scared... What was your name again? Oh well, I scared him, and he got angry, but now he's cool. Scarlett, I'm fine! And it was a nice smile you had!" In response, she smiled even wider.

Scarlett backed down. "Oh. Er, I see." She let out an uneasy laugh and turned to the dragon pressed against the tree. "Sorry about that. I guess I'm just sort of nervous since Kiko here decided to jump me from out of nowhere." She emphasized that last part and rolled her eyes at the female dragon. "Um... My name's Scarlett. It's not often we see new people around here. What brings you?"

"I just came for water." replied Talab quietly. But of course, if you wish for me to leave your territory I can..." he shied away. He didn't even know if the place was theirs, but it was better to escape areas where other dragons roamed than to risk a fight.

"No no no!" Kiko said frantically. "Don't leave! We just met you! I don't even know your name... And this isn't our territory, this is just the stream! Anyone can come to drink. Right, Scarlett?" Kiko sat down firmly, as if that were the end of all discussion on that matter.
