Chance looked around, Carmella understanding what was missing. Chance looked around in the tall grass.

Chance sighed. She turned to Arco. "Where could she be? You don't think someone took her... do you?" she asked. She felt like crying, but that wasn't going to help...

"I don't know." he sighed honestly.

[Steffi.]

Chance felt sick. She always felt sick when she did something wrong. "How could I let this happen..." she asked herself. "My fault..." she whispered, barely audible.

Arco nuzzled her, pity twisting his gaze.
"Its not your fault Chance..."

She pushed back tears, she hated crying. It was a useless waste of body fluid. "Yes it is. I started treating her different... now she's gone. Put two and two together, and it's my fault..." she said, her voice trembling. "I'm just like her. I'm no better..." she whispered, knowing that they wouldn't understand what she was talking about.

"Like who?"

"My mother. I'd rather not talk about her..." she said. She mentally changed her sentence to, I'd rather not talk about her with everyone here, since she ruined my childhood.

Fallen bared her teeth at Minty. "Pretend to care?" she outraged. "You know, I really thought I'd like you, but that pushed me over the limit. I do not pretend to care. Back off." she said. "You think you can just waltz in here and steal Avalon from me, and the push me aside from something like this? Well, that's not right. Not while I'm around." she layed her ears back. "Minty you're young and naive. You don't know what a filly wants or needs. You want to get to know Amelia like another filly would because you were just one."

She turned to the filly. "I'm sorry Amelia. She just came here, and seems to have quit the attitude." she luaghed, nuzzling the filly. "You're like the daughter I never had!" she joked, flicking her tail to the two colts.
