Story: Ice came down in deadly sheets as the Kilid's of his herd stood together. Everyone was accounted for, at least they thought. As young Blaz looked up from his sleepy resting place he noticed that his friends were gone! He slowly backed out of the circle of warmth and went to find his friends. The ice blinded him immediately and the wind struck at him from all sides. He looked for any sign of his lost friends when a crack of breaking ice broke through. Blaz galloped toward the sound of danger with no care for himself. As he ran he looked down through the ice and saw up the figure of two Kilids in the water. He cried out to his friends and looked for a way underneath the thin ice. Then he saw a hole in the ice up ahead. He walked up to it and dropped into the water. As he swam cold quickly fought to take over his body and his coat dragged him down, then he reached them. Once he calmed them down he jammed his horn into the ice above. It did not even leave a scratch! Yet he kept trying until he broke through with his final breath of air. He then helped his friends up onto the ice and then climbed out himself. They are saved.

Buckthorn was born on a clear winter night by the light of a crescent moon. As he took his first steps over the snow he knew he would come to love his new world. He pranced about and kicked snow into the cold winter air loving the glitter as the thin moon reflected off the flakes.

On his first birthday, Buckthorn was exploring with his friends when they got lost. He joked around and was teasing others when he noticed they were at the edge of a cliff. They all stared at the river almost 100 feet below when Buckthorn started prancing around the edge. His friends were all yelling at him to stop when part of the cliff gave way and they all slid down the side of the mountain. By pure luck none of them were killed. After that, Buckthorn learned never to mess around when it could be dangerous.

As he grew older, Buckthorn became more affectionate towards others. He loved all the little flaws in his friends and was always enthusiastic towards everyone and everything. He worked hard to make his friends and family happy and loved when others noticed his accomplishments.

Buckthorn has always loved to be with others, but sometimes he likes to wander off and look around for fun things to explore and sights to be seen.
