Cecilie bit her lip. "How can I?"

"Because it wasn't your fault," he said.

"That doesn't matter." Cecilie sighed and ran her palm over her face.

Cecilie waited anxiously at the front door for the car to come and drop Jack off. He'd have to stay in bed for a while, but she didn't care; he was back, and that's all that mattered.

Jack's car pulled up, and he carefully got out.

Cecilie's breath caught in her throat as Jack climbed from the car. Tears filled her eyes. She hadn't seen him in so long. She ran at him, but was careful not to hurt him as she pulled him into a hug. One arm was around his neck and the other hand was on the back of his head. "Oh Jack," she whispered. "You're back." She kissed his face all over, relieved and happy at the same time.

Jack hugged her back, ignoring the pain. "Yes, I'm here," he said and kissed her back.

Cecilie repeatedly placed quick kisses on his lips before pulling back to look at him. Tears swam in her eyes. "You're finally home," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I missed you so much."
