Yeah, I noticed that too. Isn't it to make the eyes look wider/bigger?
(I always thought of that blue dog as deer-like, for some reason).

Additionally...its ears are different colors. Its left ear is maroon, but the right (which you can hardly see through its fur) is red![/quo|te]
and I do see now the ears are different colors;

The ears aren't different colors. It's just the hair that makes it seem so. The ears are both maroon on the outside and that creamy greenish grey on the inside. Because of the way the back ear is tilted and the hair style hangs you don't really see the maroon on the back ear unless you really zoom in.

See, I've blocked the back portion of the backmost ear, so it looks like he's got one tan/blue ear, and then just one tan ear. But as you can see by the Archive image, both ears are tan on the inside and blue on the outside.

Actually by the looks of it, they are. Dark red goes up the back of one, but the other one does not have the dark red overlapping the lighter shade, so they are different colours (kinda XD).

They are indeed very different in color. Museatron brought up a good point, but it's not the case here. I'm mobile, so I can zoom in very, very closely. I see how the right eye is grayer and the ears are different.

The eyes look the same colour to me, I think it's just the edit of the eyes so you see less of his right eye making it look less green

I decided I'd look for interesting things from the earlier pets. I was zooming into the dog tag and saw the string wasn't white...
