Tay smiled, "There's an English spelling of them besides the ancient letters. Even our children need to learn."

Lyx nodded. "Is it set up kinda like a dictionary?"

Smiling Tay nodded, "Yes. Let me go get some paper while you look." Getting up he moved around and rummaged for some paper. Finding a blank book in his bags he handed it to her, "You can write in this."

Lyx flipped through the book. "I'm basically just adding a ton of new words to my memory by writing them down and remembering the spelling?"

Tay shook his head, "It's not spelling, it's the word and the way they're written in the ancient language. You'll need to be able to write spells down occasionally.

Lyx raised an eyebrow. "Do they use different symbols?"

Tay nodded, "Yes they do. The English letters are here, but you see these squiggly marks? That's the written form of the ancient language."

Lyx frowned and looked at him. "Maybe you should teach me the individual letters first."

Tay shook his head, "Individual letters don't really exist. Each word has a different symbol, though some are combinations of some while others are entirely new symbols."
