"Even more than that," Cecilie murmured, watching him.

Jack smiled, then sighed. He was scared. He didn't want to go and fight. He was afraid of getting hurt, an leaving her. The guilt already settled in his stomach.

Cecilie watched him for a moment before leaning in closer to the screen. "I love you no matter what happens," she whispered. "It will be okay in the end, amoureux. I know it will be."

Jack nodded. ''Okay,'' he said, looking at her.

Cecilie nodded and closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and leaning back against the headboard. She sighed. "I wish you were here."
