Then thanks to the summer event this year, I gave all the dogs in my Dream Catchers hoard Dreamcatchers. I was so excited to get those items, and they look great.

Oh I wish I could do this with my hoard. Not sure if I could find 348 dreamcatchers though!

But that is only because these are relatively small hoards. I would love to dress all my hoardies, but I would need sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many items!

Do any of you have hoards that are close to your hearts? Or have personal meanings? The 2 hoards for my cats kinda fit that mold for me.

Most of my mini-hoards have personal meaning. The ones that mean the most to me are my Arizona inspired hoards. I grew up there, and still love the desert.
First of these is "Arizona Dreams" of the spiders from June 2012. They're cacti themed, and the PPS one actually looks like a cactus I had in my backyard.

Next are the Gila Monster rats from April 2012. Gila Monsters are awesome, and I was lucky enough to see 2 in the wild on desert hikes. They're beautiful animals, and pretty rare to see, so I consider myself very lucky!

Then I've got the rainstorm dogs from September 2011. The design is beautiful, and reminds me of the monsoon storms we'd get during the summer. They're all named after lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water in Arizona.

Then last but not least are my Zuni Fetish ponies. I spent part of a summer living on a small Zuni reservation, learned a lot about the meanings of some of the fetishes, and it was really cool to see them as very well researched pets. They really don't seem like a very popular litter, but Tyr did some very impressive work on them.

The rest of my hoards are mostly inspired by books, movies, and TV shows I really like.

My Holographic Universe Hoard might just be the one that means the most to me out of all my hoards.
I originally started hoarding them because the design is awesome and because it reminds me of my favourite band.
But overall, they are my 'Imagination' hoard, because they remind me of things that I associate with worldbuilding, storytelling and fantasy.
Maybe 'inspiration' would be a proper term. I can't even explain everything that I see when I look at these dogs, because listing all the things that inspire me and why would probably require me to go on a long monologue about how awesome the universe is.
But for me, the design captures the spirit of imagination perfectly. If someone told me to show them something that 'looks like imagination', I could probably just poke their noses at this hoard and tell them to look at the pets for a while xD



Vansinn is one of my newer endless hoards, and sadly not very big yet, but mainly because I had too many things on my mind during the past months to actually collect any more pets.
They remind me of a character of mine. No, they don't look like him at all (starting with him being human, not a dog...), but uhm... perhaps it's because he likes the colours? I like red, too, especially dark red, but the first thing I thought when I looked at the second stage of this dog was 'Hey, Van!'. It's just another one of those designs that deeply remind me of something even if it doesn't actually resemble the thing all that much.
I don't think I'd want to hoard those dogs if they actually reminded me of his looks. But I like the design, he likes the design, and that settles it? xD

My Chromeria Hoard.
Is it silly to say that one of my three most loved hoards is solely inspired by a book series that I like?
I don't know. But perhaps it helps if I put things into perspective.
I cried, cursed, shouted and laughed like a maniac while reading those books.
I read a lot of books. And there are a lot that I really like.
But I'm usually a rather quiet reader, definitely not the sort that makes weird noises when something exciting happens.
Well, say hello to the exception. It's probably more an effect of the author's writing style than the series specifically, because after I read that one, I immediately bought and read his others as well, and they were just as awesome.
But man, it was the best thing that happened to me in a long time. (Save for the part where I was reading some chapters during lunch break in school and had to use up all my inner strength to make sure I don't cry.)
So when the ETF came and Chia wielded her magic tablet pen, and I saw the pure awesomeness of the new jelly ponies...
Shiny jelly pixel ponies + Lightbringer = 100% pure Ama joy.

No, she doesn't have a Ceyx because this particular hoard has Star Names that begin with A.
So apart from Alcyone we have; Ashlesha, Avior, Antares, Acamar, Auva, Adhara, Aspidiske, Ain, Atik and Alaraph

They represented for me what I could never hope to achieve on CS - a Dog Tag. Until last Christmas (I started in Nov 2010) I had NO List pets. None, nada, nothing. So I decided to hoard the April Fools Dog Tag because I figured it would be the closest I would ever get to getting a real Dog Tag.

Luckily for me, last Christmas I got the UR Ice Cat and traded it for a number of list pets which included the U-Nick-Corn which I traded up for a Non-jewel which I then traded for a Non Tag. So I don't have the Dog Tag still, but I'm happy regardless <3

I've reached my first goal with my 2nd gen dogs. 1192. thank you so much to everyone who helped! n.n

Eleven Grown Scarf Dogs. It's alright for the beginning. Right now I'm thinking about to trade my cake dog down for a scarf pps as a keeper for my little hoard.

All of my other hoards growing a bit slower than these three but I don't have a problem with it. (:

Most of my hoards start with just one small association with something, and over time it gets more and more xD
Sometimes I'm still wondering how my vixens went from "dawn" to "magicians". Or what the heck the other microbiology dogs have to do with compassion. But the more I see in them the more I love them <3
Perhaps I'm just too good at the association game...

My goodness, it must take real dedication, fodder and patience for an Advent Hoard. I don't know how you people do it.

Well the reason I chose A is rather silly. I wasn't sure how many of them I wanted to get, and I had the idea to have alphabetical star names, but because I didn't know where they would end up in my line up after I acquired another one I just decided they would have A names. I like A names ^^ Some of my hoards are named for silly reasons, others for more in-depth ones.

Two of my very rare hoards are very close to my heart<3 the other two are also close to my heart but they were just accidental hoards xD Lemurs have a very very close bond with me and i won't take them off my wishlist ever again because i miss them so much ;-;
