Pandora walked along the sidewalk, guiding Chimaku by the hand as they walked.
"Mom, I'm thirteen, for Pete's sake! I don't need you to lead me around!" he shouted in an angry voice that was lost in the sounds of traffic but still drew stares.
"Calm down, Chimaku. We're going to the cafe today for some smoothies as a special treat," she said, smiling. "And look, here it is now! You'll love it. Find some other kids your age and hang out. Order whatever you want, but don't get to many sweets..."
she continued talking as she walked in, the ding of a tiny bell signalling their arrival. Chimaku asked her to get him a strawberry-banana smoothie and looked around. There were so many people that he felt glad that he'd gotten rid of his balloon when he was nine. Maybe he'd seem... normal.

[Well they're technically adults now, but I never RP'd Maku as a teen, so until the refs get done I'll just be aging Maku through the teen stages.

Amaryllis entered the cafe, a bored expression set on her facade.
Usually, the dragon would take care of her animal friends, but they were
not in need of her assistance at the moment, causing her to be rather,
bored without something to busy her.
Luckily, she had remembered this place from a few months ago, a place
to socialize. Spying an empty table for two, Amaryllis quickly took to it,
then settling and ordering a latté.
