Feathertail headed out of the camp into the mountainous forest, the place she loved most. The fresh air smelled nice, and she felt as if she could run forever. The she-cat always secretly hoped to see deer when out of the camp because they fascinated her. Although they could trample you in an instant, they usually just ran away from you or stared at you for a while. Every now and then she would look back to make sure Wolfpaw was still following since he was being quiet. She was usually quiet herself, but today she felt excited and happy, but she didn't know why. She stopped at the edge of the trees, a small area with tall grass standing before them. The forest continued just on the other side, though. "There's bound to be prey in there," she motioned to the tall grass lightly which was gently swaying in the breeze. "It might be hard though because your going through the grass. Would you like to give it a shot?" She knew that her apprentice knew how to hunt pretty well, but she still needed to make sure he was doing okay with it.

Jaypaw stifled a sigh and walked out of the medicine cat den, looking around the camp. He noticed Tigerstar walking around, but he didn't worry since she had been resting long enough. The black and white tom flicked his tail slowly back and forth for a long time, before finally deciding to go and get something to eat. He hadn't seen Stonejaw or Cinderpaw in a while, so he guessed they probably weren't missing him. His steps were quiet as he he made his way to the fresh-kill pile, which looked plentiful. He picked out a decent looking squirrel and headed to a sunny spot near the edge of the camp. The apprentice gently laid down and began munching on the squirrel, which was juicier than it looked. He usually spent his days alone, only communicating with others when he had to. Although it sounded lonely, he had gotten quite used to it over time, but sometimes the loneliness got to him, making him seem depressed. Sometimes it felt like he was all alone, even when the medicine den was full of cats. He shook his head, wanting to clear the depressing thoughts from his head and focus on quieting his stomach.

Brackentwist sniffed in disdain, looking down on his apprentice. "Watch," he growled, loosing interest as he stepped back, glaring with his cold eyes onto the molten tom. "And learn." he finished, laying on his belly and rolling to his side. "If someone comes at you and you can't get up, you roll onto your back and you keep your head down." The large tom did as he said, the fur of his back flattening against the tough ground. His ears flattened against his skull and his forepaws raised, long claws gleaming murderously as an imaginary cat impaled itself on them. "I thought I taught you this just after you started training?" He grunted, his body giving a violent twist that threw him back to his feet in a matter of heartbeats, his tail flicking relentlessly from side to side.

Wolfpaw nodded to his mentor. His nose twitched as he tasted the air carefully. The black tom spotted a vole that was scrounging around for food. slender- Well it seems as though you are in luck. I'm very sorry to hear about your friend! Looks like the voting's changed to foxes in the territory anyhow.

Feathertail nodded in approval, watching as he stalked into the tall grass to hunt. After he caught something they would battle train. They had been fight-training for the past quarter moon, and he had been coming along quite well. Soon he would be a wonderful warrior. She smiled, proud of Wolfpaw and how hard he had been working, but it was a shame he was so..cold. If he wasn't always so grumpy, maybe he would have more friends, but that wasn't her place to decide.

Wolfpaw flicked his tail, readying to pounce. His amber eyes narrowed, and he pounced onto the vole. The black tom nipped the main artery, killing the prey. He sat up, and scooped up the vole, standing.

I suppose there'll have to be a patrol that goes out to find them after. What do you say, maybe three foxes? Momma, Papa, and baby! >:3
But I still feel like we need some sort of natural disaster thing going on here... Nuggeht is right, earthquake or avalanche would be cool too.

Tigerstar watched as Rainfeather made her way out of the clearing, and then sighed. Maybe it'd be in her best interest to stay here for now. For a moment, she wished she had an apprentice who's lesson she could hold in camp, or round the back by the waterfall.

Cricketpaw watched Brackentwist carefully, and then lowered his head to look at his paws. He was still sprawled across the ground, panting slightly.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't ready." He mewed, shamefully peeling himself off of the forest floor and shaking out his coat. His ears grew hot, embarrassed that he had just been taken out by a Warrior not much larger than himself, especially when Tigerstar ought to be giving him his Warrior name within a moon or two.

Giving the apprentice only a moment, Songcatcher bounded out of the brush behind her. She didn't see what she had expected. Infact, she had no idea what she had expected. A tortoiseshell she-cat stood there, and she didn't seem like much of a threat. Under her paw, lay the culprit of the initial sound that had drawn the two Mistclan cats in her direction; a broken, dried out tree branch.
Classic giveaway, Songcatcher thought to herself. "What's your business here?" A hiss managed it's way through her throat, though the hostility was most likely unnecessary.
