Niova's head lifted when she heard the other mares start to panic which caused her to become worried. When she stood up, she realized why they were worried; she gasped when she saw Cody's ankle. She wanted to go see if he was ok but she decided to keep her distance and stayed where she was. Her eyes lowered to her hooves and she shuffled them slightly before she shook her head and laid herself back down. She watched a small breeze toss the surface of the water around some before her forelock was tossed in her face and she was surprised. She tossed it out then lifted her head to look at the trees, watching the leaves; for some reason, the little things have seemed to get her attention today.

Azaria slowly walked over to the water side. She lowered her head slowly and looked around. She drank up some water before she lifted her head up again and headed into the water.

Esmeralda looked at Cody once they reached the pond. "Do you need me to stay here or do you got this?" she said with a hint of sarcasm. She knew stallions liked to keep their pride.

Azaria slowly relaxed as the water lapped hungrily at her body. She kicked the water with powerful strokes as she swam. She ducked underwater for a moment, swam a little, then popped up in a new spot. She laughed quietly to herself. Hopefully Cody would feel better soon.

She listened to him speak, noting his pause for a moment before he continued. She didnt laugh but instead smiled and nudged his shoulder with her's playfully. "That is stupid but I can't say it hasn't happened to me." Calista explained to him. She then thought over something herself. "Well, the stupidest thing I've done is get lost walking around the same place for three days straight and then getting stuck in mud. I still don't get how I couldn't tell I was walking in circles." She explained with a shake of her head.

The stallion looked round at the mare and smiled politely. "The Bayou can be deceiving at the best of times. I've heard of stories of much older getting lost amongst the trees, so I don't think that you were stupid for getting lost in the same place." He plodded alongside the mare, his eyes thoughtful. "Y'know, you're probably one of the smartest mares I've met out here." He paused slightly, looking over at her so that she could see that he meant it. "Not many of the loners are smart. But you seem to be very intelligent." Suddenly, a cheeky grin crossed his face, his eyes lighting up brightly. "Not to mention patient with me!"

The stallion chuckled playfully at her playful gesture. Smiling at the mare warmly, he replied, "why thank you." No one had ever even hinted that he had an ounce of intelligence before. Stupid, yes. Idiot, many times. But never 'not too bad'. There were few loners with the kindness of Calista. It made him feel special that he had a friend like her. Seeing her playful mood, an idea came into his head. "Hey, you feel like a race? The sun's going to go down soon and I'm gonna have to find a place to rest up after sun down." He shook his mane gently as a mosquito attempted to land on his neck, ears still pricked for her answer.
