What do you guys find that motivates you to write (muse)?
Music is often my muse as well. I'll find that sometimes I can pick a certain artists and listen to a variety of their songs, and other times I listen to the same song over and over and over and over in order to get through a piece I'm writing. I also use prompts to get my creativity flowing when I happen to be stuck on something.

What kind of prompts do you use?
I've never really quite gotten into prompts.

Honestly, just about anything I come across on the internet. I save them on a document and store them for later use. I just came across this list and was super excited.
My favorites are when you're given a list of three things, and have to write something involving all of them. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky, for example: a horoscope, makeup, and a missing tooth. I mean, what the heck?
I can say I dislike prompts where I'm told to do something specific such as: tell a story set in a place where the landscape changes nightly. Since I use my prompts to promote my creativity, I hate being limited to something that I may not enjoy writing.

thats a great list! I will definitely be using this in the future. *bookmarking*
And I agree! I usually dislike promps that tell me exactly what to write, but they are meant to get your creative juices flowing - not giving you a direct line to follow throughout your writing. Still, I prefer promps like words on that list, words that could come up in your writing. Another kind of promp that bothers me are completely absurd ones, such as : "Write a story in the perspective of a runaway clown with a magic shoebox involving a train, a unicorn and a shoelace." Those are mostly generators, which I hate. I end up pressing the "new prompt" button over and over again and waste my time reading promps that would never make a good story.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Somebody left the gate open
You know we got lost on the way
Come save us a runaway train
Goin' insane
How do we
How do we not fade
How do we how do we
How do we not fade away
How do we how do we oh

Ah yes, I understand that they're supposed to help with creativity, I always just feel more restricted than I'd like. I cannot stand generators. I have yet to find one that I genuinely like.

I use my own 'prompts'. I have a soft pencil case full of random words and I normally pull out three if I'm bored. For example, just now I pulled out: final days, lost love, pearls. Interesting...
happenings in 2015:discovered dan + phil,
swam competitively,
went to we day twice,
started listening to p!atd,
got my braces off,
visited family i haven't
seen since like 2004,
tried candy from japan,
saw superwoman and
justin trudeau in person,
got ice cream a lot,
stopped being friends with
some really toxic people,
had an amazing year.

Gasp! That prompt list is amazing. <3 Favorited.
I don't usually use prompts, especially restrictive or crazy ones like the ones you listed.
My muse is probably also a strange one. Yes, occasionally I listen to music (classical, country, and pop) for writing, but usually I simply read or look at art. It spurs me to write (or draw) myself. I also roleplay to inspire me and get those creative juices flowing.
