Do you ever draw a character that you're trying out for/bidding on when art has no effect on who will win? What do you do with the art if you do not win?

I did this once before;
I was in an auction to get a character I liked;
I was winning for two days so I decided to draw the character; someone came out of nowhere and doubled my offer, causing me to lose.
I basically deleted the art, I was so angry that I really loved a character and someone pretty much snipped me and the person didn't tell me I was outbidded until the auction was over;

I have this old character that was a custom from zetsubou (dieselle).
I don't give him the love he deserves and so I'm debating selling him.

Yes. I usually give the art for the winner, but, as my art always show a lot of my character's personality, i usually can't give most part of it to the winner.

@Marshmelon & Starz ~ See, I envy people like that. XD Who can do the art themselves. I can do it, but it'd be 1) traditional and colorless because I've lost my color pencils ^^; 2)if I wanted to make it digital, it'd take forever, 3) be on MS Paint (though not anymore because I don't think my laptop came with it XD ), or 4) due to now having a laptop, flat out suck because I can't draw real well on Oekaki.

I feel like a failure of an artist even though I can draw relatively well using a pencil and paper.

I feel like, I've nothing much to offer to tempt anyone into doing art for me for contests. XD For the gryffin, I'm tempted to just take my terrible chibi headshot lineart, edit it a plethora and use that for the gryffin, then use it again for the character from the SCAA. XD

Also, I got a reply from TWG90, sadly, she too has no idea who the mystery girl in the picture with Nico is, it's really old. So I guess I'll have to go down a different road. XP

Once, for a Kiamara, it flat out stunk and now I just look at the piece with a mixture of 75% hatred because it looks dreadful and it was pretty much a waste of my time and 25% regret that I didn't get the Kia.

I'm selling characters on my site for dA points or possibly CS pets. Here's the link. Characters in the for sale tab are all open for offers and some minor/secondary human and canine characters might be for sale as well.
Also, I'm advertising this character design contest that I'm holding since I would really love to get more entries. First prize is $25 which can be converted into C$ or dA points, if you win and would like the USD option, you must contact me on dA about it. If you don't feel like entering, you can get 5 dA points if you advertise it in your journal. ^^

I've now added notes on all character pages stating the restrictions for resales put on each one by the previous seller. If a character is listed as "Cannot be resold", that usually just means that it cannot be sold for USD/points but can be traded for other characters or CS pets (I do still need clarification on this from some artists since it varies from person to person). If there are no restrictions put on a character, that does not mean that the character is definitely for sale, it just means that I am allowed to sell it.

I'm looking for some new characters. I'm most interested in human characters but also looking for fairly natural design canine characters or birds. I can offer event tokens, C$, and pets rare-Rares List.

I'm also looking for someone to draw a human character for me based off of only traditional pencil sketches. I can offer the same type of payment as mentioned above.
