Just got back from seeing Elysium.
It was pretty cool I think. It was a bit too shootem-up for my tastes. They could dxpand on the social-political issues in that time. In the end it gave me the impression of the movie Repo Men.
The plot is pretty easy to figure out once it gets going, but I think the director wanted to purposely use a simple plot to get his socio-political message across.
One of my coworkers who saw it when it came out seemed to dislike the movie but I think he's a movie troll. I have yet to hear him say he actually liked a movie.
It's really raw and volient which is how it earned its Rated R status.
I say go for it! It was enjoyable (:

Alright. Prepare for a bunch of rambling.
"Raw and violent." "Shoot 'em-up." That will definitely appeal to my taste. I'm assuming Matt Damon also uses f--- quite a few times? He tends to do that. That would certainly add to the R rating considering you are only allotted one use of the word in a PG-13 film. "Could expand on the social-political issues." I was hoping they would include a decent amount of information on the political happenings of the time, seeing as it's a movie about the separation of the prosperous and average. It's too bad they didn't build more on it. "Plot is pretty easy to figure out." That's good. I like simple plots. Hence my love of Pacific Rim.

I have a feeling I am going to enjoy it, especially in IMAX. Tallyho.

He and Doctor Strange are both ridiculously pretty on that show.

I don't recall that much blatant cursing for the sake of cursing. A lot of people get hurt so that causes quit a few expletives.
The way the political stuff was written I think they wanted it to be easily grasped and not go over anyone's heads to appeal and reach a broader audience.
