A Dock Tailed Fennex, or DTF for short, is a desert dwelling fox like creature with large bat like ears, thick heat reflecting fur, and a notable bobbed, or docked, tail. They dwell mainly in Northern and Central Africa, licing inside of small burrows filled with tunnels. A DTF normally has more than one entrance to its' burrow, and some can be miles apart, confusing predators and people when the Fennex feels threatened.
DFTs can live up to five years of age in the wild, and a shocking double of that in captivity. This is because they have weaker immune systems and are a favourite snack of many predators such as coyotes, snakes, and hawks.
DFTs are very docile and passive, rarely ever caught fighting over anything. They live in social groups or 'tribes' much like Meerkats, and rely on each other for protection, pup sitting, food and shelter. They mate for life, meaning once they've found a mate they don't ever part.
They are very loyal to their tribes, and will care for and defend the tribe and their pups with their life. Mother and Father DFTs take turns watching and hunting for weaned pups. It only takes the average litter of pups, which is averagely four, two months to become fully weaned. Pups are able to survive without their parents at the age of 7 months old, though they tend to stick around until around one year of age. Then they can decide to either run off and find or start a new tribe, or stay in the one they are currently part of.
Fennexes are rarely found alone, and the majority of loners are found to be rabid or diseased in some way.
Though they survive easily, and are found in great numbers, DFTs are protected by law, and are actually ranked as Threatened. This is simply because they are such a novelty species, and are thought to possess powers, though these are all only myths.

Since this is a contest of creativity, you're gonna need too make your own forum, as is the spirit of this contest~ It will end on 26th. the Good luck!
