He gets to the front of the herd and leads them towards the sandy hills in the distance where he knows water collects. The male snorts a little and glances back every so often to check on the herd slowing the pace or quickening it when needed. His eyes and ears were alert for any sounds that may signal trouble or danger like heavy footfalls that would mean carnotaurs.

He nods once and starts walking, his stride was longer than hers so he shortens them so she could keep up without exerting herself too much, "I'm Scar by the way, sorry I didn't say so earlier, I'm just very surprised that there are other carnotaurs like myself, I thought I was the last one." He glance back to the pile of bones and scraps they left behind, raptors had pounced on it as soon as their backs were turned, greedy little suckers. Scar snorts a bit and watches Ailis from the corner of his eye, wondering if she was just a trick of the eye, things like that happen in the desert.

The female noted how the males pace was slightly faster than hers when he walked, and that he had slowed done some so she could keep up easily. Ailis didn't want to be a burden to this bull-- didn't want to slow him down if he had somewhere to be. She noted his name as he mentioned it-- Scar. An usual name for a carnotaur, but she didn't question its origin. "My name is Ailis." She murmured. "To be honest, I thought I was the last as well. Haven't seen anything other than the herd and those pesky raptors."

Sand... Why is it just so... Sandy? Every grain rubbing against your tired, worn, toes- Almost teasing you! 'Hey! Look at us! We don't need water... We just make your long, desperate migration even tougher... To add to it all- Why was it so good at holding in the heat!

Lucius thought to himself, mouth watering as he hung his head low through exhaustion. Why am I thinking about sand? Why was I picturing it speaking to me? He thought again... Maybe Dehydration had driven him mad?... He hadn't had time to stop when the leader called for rest, his long legs feeling heavier by every prolonged second without water... Everyone seemed to perk up around him as the leader ran above, standing alert. Water? Maybe we found water!

He chuckles a little and looks over at her, "That's a very interesting name, but not the craziest I've heard." He shrugs his shoulder a little and looks around at the rocks as they pass them, "A nice name though, alot more interesting than 'Scar'." He looks back towards the kill and chuckles again, nodding, "Raptors can be rather annoying, tasty, but annoying when they keep trying to steal your food." He pauses a little and leans down, sniffing around at the spot amongst the tracks the herd had left. He can smell an injured dinosaur and rumbles a sound of excitement, "Someone smells hurt, there should be either a dead body or a dying one ahead soon, I love herd migrations, such plentiful food."

A grin seemed to form on her toothy maw. "Scar can be interesting too.. it's.. ominous?" That was the word the was looking for. Ominous. "Thank you though." Ailis followed his gaze back toward the bones that the raptors were picking clean. Vermin, those little things were. "I've never eaten raptor. They move too fast, and I don't like chasing them from kills. More just swam in while I'm away, those nasty little things." The carnotaur glanced up toward the sky, eyes narrowing at the sun once more. Why did the desert have to be so hot? Why did the herd have to go through it? When she heard Scar mention an injured animal, the grin became visible. Though she had just eaten, the thought of another meal so soon had raised her spirits. "That's the only good thing about them, the food. This desert kills them off so easily." She replied, sniffing at the air. He was right-- the scent was faint, but it was there.

The male shrugs and stands back up, "I guess it could be, oh well, its just a name anyway." He glances over at her and then to the sky, "The heat does kill them nicely, but it can also kill us if we're not careful." He veers off the tracks and goes over to a nicely shaded area, "The herd doesn't move that fast and too much sun can make you sick, a sick hunter doesn't get to eat." He lays down, more like plops down, onto the ground in a small cloud of dust, looking over at her with a chuckle, "Come join me, its nice and cool under here."

Ailis' grin faded at the mention the heat could end their lives like it did the herd-dwellers. "Luckily, it hasn't yet." She muttered, casting a glare toward the sun. While the carnotaurs required less water than the herbivorous creatures, they could still very well die from heat exhaustion, or over exposure. The female tilted her head as the brute wandered off the trail of tracks from the herd and toward a shaded area, where he settled down in the sand. When he called for her to join him, she eyed the covered area before slowly moving over and settling a bit away from his position, laying down in the cooler sand.

Uncurling herself from the ball form she was in, Ducky drowsily lifted her head to look up at the sky. Sighing as the realization that it was actually dawn hit her again she stood up and looked at Zeke, the other dinosaur curled up with them "Thanks Tiger Lilly" she said gratefully, looking up at the older dinosaur. "C'mon Zeke!" She exclaimed to the younger member, prancing around him.

Swoop lifted himself off the dusty sandy ground and walked out of the shallow dip he was in. He walked to the rest of the heard and followed talkin. Swoop was pretty laid back, but also pretty solemn.

She stretches out her large body and starts forward as the herd moves, but then hangs back to wait on the little ones, not wanting them to be lunch for a raptor or carnotaur.

He chuckles when she moves over to him, rather amused by her wariness, "I'm not going to eat you, you don't have to be careful around me." He lays his large head down in the sand and huffs a sigh of relief, he hadn't slept in a while and the sun was getting too much for him.
