Zark was still awake, sitting in the common room at the low fire.

Adrina had snuck out of the castle, and was racing around the Quidditch pitch, laughing as she weaved around the stands and through the goal-posts.

Lexi was asleep on the floor in front of the fire, curled up into a tiny ball. She had a tiny stuffed cat in the crook of her arm, and she was breathing steadily. She usually slept in front of the fire.

Zark smiled as he laid down on the couch, watching Lexi out of one eye.

Adrina laughed again as she barrel-rolled, imagining several Slytherin Chasers bearing down on her.

She opened an eye and sat up, rubbing her other eye with the stuffed animal. She blinked, noticing Zark and stood quickly, swaying. She swore and ran up the stairs to the dorms.

[Despondency.]
