Eli nodded slowly. "Where'd he come from?"

"Um..." he said, glancing at Alli. "The stork brought him."

Eli tipped her head. "Why'd the stork bring him?"

Alli suppressed a giggle and glanced at Cam, then looked back down to CJ.

"Because me and mommy and you wanted new babies," he said.

Eli frowned. "But I'm the baby." Suddenly her eyes widened and her lower lip started to quiver. "Daddy, did you and Mommy stop loving me?"

Alli looked over at Cam again, her jaw dropping in surprise.

Cam sighed, mentally kicking himself. "No, we still love you very much," he said. "Dad, take Cody?" he asked and Jasper took him, freeing Cam to hug Eli.

Eli let her grandpa take her younger brother, then turned and curled up against Cam. She buried her face in his shirt and whimpered. She was used to being the center of attention, and now that she didn't have that, she didn't know what to think.

Cam rubbed her back. "Shh it's okay baby girl," he said, kissing her head.

Eli whimpered. "But you and Mommy love the babies more than me."

"Eliana Cara Crawford, look at me," he said. "We love you all the same," he told her.
