This line tends to be on the smaller side until 4 weeks. None are skinny, though the hairless do look real small comapred to the rest. They are eating mazuri lab blocks, a homemade mixture, & scrambled eggs, kitten food for extra protein.

^ I have to agree, I worked with a rescue and her bubs didn't look 'bigger' until around 6 weeks but all were fed good quality food and ate like pigs. ^^

And an oopsie litter I had.. >.< the papa was guinea pig sized, momma was smaller - bubs were preterm. All are monsterous in size now, at least the males, with the females being petite. All got top quality noms, but were just teeny. <3

This is a random question. What does it mean when someone refers to a rat as their "Heart rat"?

It just means that rattie is really special basically. You obviously love all of your ratties, but there might be one that is that little bit more special to you.

I haven't been on this thread in awhile, just thought I'd pop in ^^
I was just in the same position as I just moved across the country myself and was wondering how I would bring my rats along. The plane was going to let me take then on, in a carrier like people take their cats/small dogs on. So that sucks that your airline isn't allowing it.
Anyway we ended up having too much luggage to take the plane anyway and ended up driving two days with them just in their cage in the car. The noise and movement for the car didnt phase them at all but a plane I'm assuming would be a lot more extreme. I wish I could be more help... good luck! I hope you can figure out and take them with you!

And omg darkvoodoo those babies are so cute ^^

Here's some pictures of my two girls

Is non-lactose milk safe for rats?

Also I've heard that albinos tend to go blind as they mature?(not sure exactly) How does one tell if a rat is losing its sight?
Both of our girls are albinos but we don't really know how to tell if they can or can't see things.

All rats have poor eye sight, but pink eyed rats have the worst. Have you noticed them moving their head side to side often?
