UsernameWTE NameAislynne, a variant on the Irish Gaelic name Aisling - which means dream, vision.
WTE AgeThis mare has seen 70 full moons in her life; this makes her five years and ten months old.
GenderSince she is lacking the characteristic male horns, Aislynne is most definitely a mare.
PersonalityShe is a kind-hearted equine through and through. It is almost as if there is no bad in within her heart. She never bears grudges, is extremely trusting of others, and is always in a good mood. Although she is capable of defending herself subconsciously, Aislynne rarely is pushed so far that she has no choice but to harm another. If the herd was to be attacked, she'd be more concerned about the wellbeing of the foals and leads them to safety rather than make a stand and fight. This mare is also a bit oblivious, not really aware of her beauty or of others' potential interests in her as a mate; although she'd love to have foals of her own one day, she's never really thought about finding a partner - content to take care of the herd's youngest members. Aislynne is also a bit of a daydreamer, usually imagining grand stories and adventures in her mind's eye; many of these come from stories she heard growing up, some of which she passes on to the foals she's watching over.
HistoryAislynne was born in Koru's herd about two months after they were re-released back into the wild. Her mother and father were both present in her life - even though her sire isn't the lead stallion. They were both kind and loving toward the female, and very much influenced her love and fondness for young equines.
While she didn't grow up around the humans constantly, they were present in as she grew from filly to the mare she is today. Because she was raised with them in her life, she isn't as fearful of the researchers as older members are; however, she is still sometimes skittish around the somewhat foreign beings.
RoleAislynne is a part of Koru's herd and often finds herself watching over the herd's foals. She enjoys doing this, as she finds taking care of and spending time with the young equines quite enjoyable.

.:Isra:.
The dark mahogany coat, tinted purple in the morning sunlight, was barely visible above the strand of long grasses and brush in which the mare was grazing. She was seeking out the tender, new shoots that sprung up in the shadows of the taller, healthier grasses. She liked their soft texture and sweet, dew-drop taste. She flicked her tail to pull it from the hold of a clingy shrub, and raised her head to peer through the shrubs to survey a mare and yearling pair that had just tread near her domain. Her white lip twitched at a new story beginning to take shape in her mind. A story about a yearling and his mother, who tread too close to a monster hidden in bushes....
She shook her head, finishing her meal of new grass shoots, jade-colored eyes roving over the other bodies. Another dark body was barely visible, across the bodies of others, dappled with lighter shades of brown. She even thought she could see his pale blue eyes. She backed up a tad, and felt something scratch her haunches. She squealed loudly, her head snapping up, hurriedly bolting out from her cover, swishing her tail to and fro.

Koru
The Stallion Humans Named Morris
Koru had just bent down his head to grab some more grass to munch when a frightened squeal rent through the air. Head snapping up, he quickly scanned for the equine who'd cried out, honing in on a young mare leaping from the taller shoots that lingered on the forest's edge. Without a second thought, he charged from the miniature hill he'd claimed - his form racing toward the other Whip Tail. The tall stallion's hooves pounded the earth below, often kicking up clumps of grass and fertile soil as he charged forward. It took but a mere few heartbeats before he was upon the mare, his chest heaving slightly from his mad dash.
"Are you harmed?" He asked, worried for her safety first. Still, he scanned the shadows under the trees' leaves - searching for the source of danger that could have spooked the mare - Isra, if he remembered correctly - so. The calls of animals hadn't left the canopy yet, although the chorus of birdsong had dwindled in volume; this could have been in response to Isra's cry, or it could mean that a predator was indeed making its way closer to the herd.
Aislynne
The gentle gray mare
Ears flicking, Aislynne happily grazed alongside a few of the herds' foals. One was quite young, and so his mother hovered nearby; not because the mare didn't trust her, but simply because she'd want to be near her son should danger appear. The other two were older and closer in age, both near three years old - one filly, one colt. Sometimes one of the foals would mess with another - a nip on the side, a bump of hindquarters, or a flick of a tail across another's muzzle; it was quite entertaining to see them frolicking about in between bouts of grazing.
However, that peace was shattered when a shrill cry rent through the air. Just like the rest of the herd, Aislynne raised her head, angling it toward the sound. As Koru, the leader of the herd, charged toward the potential danger, the gray mare started nudging the curious foals in the opposite direction. Should there be a predator lurking in the shadows of the forest, she'd want to get them as far away as possible. Yet, she didn't want to lead them away in a full run, in case it wasn't as big a danger as a jaguar or other large predator; not only would it be a waste of energy, but the stampeding herd would then most surely attract the attention of hunters - and a tired equine was likely to end up a dead equine if that were to happen. So, after a few yards of shuffling away from the treeline, Aislynne turned back to see how things would play out.

.:Isra:.
Isra's heart, having left into a pounding gait at her sudden surprise, had no time to quiet before the pounding of hooves, more like thunder than her thudding heart, came her way. She had garnered attention from the mares and yearlings around her, but when she had managed to draw more even breaths, she was surprised once again.
"Are you harmed?" Isra gulped and looked up, and was met with a dark head, marked with a bit of white, along with clear, blue eyes the color of a morning sky. A little lump stuck in her throat, a mixture of embarrassment and confusion. Koru, the lead stallion, he was a member of her herd, but he was very important, to the humans and the herd. She knew him, by name, but she had no clue if he knew her. She wasn't always the chattiest mare...most Whip Tails she had met before, grew bored or confused around her, when she tried to tell a story.
The dark-coated mare slowly nodded, managing to squeak out. "I...I just got scratched." She glanced back at her little fortress, and felt a little nervous churn in her stomach, of embarrassment.

Koru
The Stallion Humans Named Morris
Koru waited albeit a bit impatiently as the mare gaped at him. While yes, he didn't interact with every single member on a regular basis, he would have thought that she wouldn't have been so nervous around him. Especially if there truly was any danger nearby; her silence could allow the threat to draw closer, endangering the herd further. It wasn't until the dark coated mare - Isra - managed to reply to his question. His cerulean eyes flicked from the tall grasses and scrub behind Isra to the mare before him, still a bit wary of a potential predator attack.
"Alright," he sighed, finally seeming to calm down. The tension left his muscles with the sigh, it travelling down his body in a ripple-like manner. Turning to the rest of the herd, Koru lifted his head to address them. "There is no danger here, so everyone can relax and go back to grazing," his voice rang out in the clearing. It was still possible for a predator to have heard either Isra's cry or his own loud call, but it'd have to be a risk worth taking; not many predators actually attacked equines in the area - especially when they were a part of a large herd like the one he currently led. As the others began to meander back slowly, the stallion turned back to the dark female, her coat glistening such a dark red that it almost appeared red-violet in some places, black in others. "And you're sure that you weren't scratched too badly, Isra?" He murmured softly - so that others wouldn't overhear - understanding that she was embarrassed to have caused such a stir over something so simple.
Aislynne
The gentle gray mare
Aislynne flicked her tail as she watched Koru talking to the dark coated female while still keeping watch for the threat of a predator. She could sense the growing curiosity of the foals, but she didn't hush them or prod them away; so long as they stayed behind her, with her facing the forest at the moment, they could be as inquisitive as they wanted to be. It wasn't until Koru called out the all-clear that she could feel, and almost swore she heard, the collective release of breath as everyone began to relax. Predators weren't usually a threat to Whip Tails, but they were still wary and could easily be put on edge when they were all so exposed in the meadow.
"Alright, go back to whatever it is you want to do," Aislynne sighed dramatically as the filly and colt pushed and one another's shoulders. With excited squeals, they went about running through the herd, weaving around stallions, mares, and foals alike, the wind whipping at their scruffy manes and the feathering on their legs and tails. Eyes twinkling with mirth, the gray mare walked more slowly back to her original grazing spot before she stretched her head back to watch the few clouds in the sky drift lazily across the sky. Hopefully this day would remain peaceful, with no other startling interruptions; as Aislynne loved to spend time like this in the bright sunlight, its golden rays warming her speckled back beneath a clear sky.
