Kris sighed. "I know Cecilie, but it'll be okay. What if I come out while he's gone to help?" she asked, looking at Luke. "Yeah, babe?"

"I don't want to inconvenience you..." Cecilie said quietly. She knew that Alanna was sick.

Luke bit his lip. "When you're done talking on the phone, I need to show you something."

Kris nodded at Luke. "It'll be alright," she told Cecilie.

Cecilie swallowed hard. "Thank you, Kristyna. It means a lot."

"Then do you want me out there?" he asked.

Cecilie nodded slightly, even though she couldn't see her. "If you could...yes. I'd like that."

"Alright. I'll be out in a few days," she said.

"Thank you so much. I'll call you back later; JJ is asleep. Bye," Cecilie said quietly, then hung up.

Luke sat at the kitchen table, biting his lip.

Kris sighed, and looked at Luke. "What did you want to show me?"

Luke stood and walked to her, handing her the paper he'd received. "Read it," he said quietly. He'd been called back into duty against France.
