That right there was more than enough to make me stay but Hiro's actions were beyond more than enough to make me go. I pulled away from Ren a bit just watching him carefully, wanting to remember every possible detail about him. I was going to miss him so much. No real thought passed through my head as my body acted of it's own accord. Ignoring Hiro who was currently attached to my legs, I kissed him softly. It wasn't really for him. Nope. It was for me. He didn't know it but I was saying goodbye this time because there was no going back after this. The stars were out and it was time to leave. Maybe not forever, but for a long time.

Ren wasn't surprised when she kissed him, in fact he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back. But something didnt seem right, and he knew why she was doing it. He pulled back, panic flashing in his green eyes. "No. Jinx, your not leaving. Please tell me your not leaving me."

Since when was he so perceptive? Once again I acted as if I weren't going anywhere. "Dude what the heck?! I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving you!" Well, in my head I knew I wasn't exactly leaving him. He'd always have the feather so I would be with him always. To him though, it wouldn't be like that. He would go on and on about it for a while and then he'd fall for Storm and forget about it, letting it become a distant memory. That was all I could hope for at this point. Hiro was probably going to be mad since I was definitely stalling now but he'd just have to deal with it for now.

Hiro grimaced when she kissed him, but otherwise stayed silent. He knew in some weird, twisted Jinxy way she felt like she had to. He didn't really understand why anyone would kiss, but then again he was only seven. Still only seven. When was the last time he'd had a birthday? It felt like this time last year he was seven, but there was no real way to know since he was one of the only flock members that didn't know their birthday. He thought he'd came up with something like July 19th or something but he wasn't sure.

Ren knew she was lying. Jinx wouldn't just pluck a feather and miss him. His kitty was leaving with Hiro. He found himself shoving Jinx away, his green eyes fiery. Course he was angry, but at himself. "Shut up! Don't lie to me!" He snarled, his voice bitter. this is your fault, Ren. You did this, you made her want to get away. Why don't you just jump off the cliff and get it over with? This time don't spread your wings.

Being careful to not step on Hiro in the process, I carefully stepped out of the koala hug he was giving my legs and over to Ren. I glanced over at Hiro throwing him a quick look that said 'When he's asleep we're leaving'. That was the only way we'd actually get anywhere and now that I'd come to terms with a few things, I was ready to go. Smiling softly I reached up, letting my hand rest on Ren's cheek. "I don't know what kind of catnip you've been rolling in but it has definitely messed your head up. Dude, I just yanked out a feather and kissed you without the usual clawing and biting afterwards. What do you think I'm trying to say to you?"

"Just leave!" Ren growled, clawing her hand off. "It's obvious, Fang. Your taking Hiro and ditching us. Take your little scrap and go." He threw a backpack into her chest and flicked out his wings. Fang. There was that name again. Whenever he was angry with her he'd call her that. She'd always been Jinx to him. With a single, powerful downstroke fueled by his little temper tantrum, he was off in the air and bulleting out of sight.

Hiro tried as hard as he could to stay attached to her legs, but when she just moved her legs up he lost his grip. He sat up criss-cross, removed all expression from his face and just stared at the ground, realising at her look that this would take longer than prognosticated. How could he just...do that? I wanted to leave on good terms and with good memories. Ren always did have a way of complicating things. Taking a deep and calming breath I dropped the backpack that I had caught instinctively and punched the nearest tree as hard as I could resulting in instant regret. I screamed. It lasted for no more than a second but it was a scream all the same. This was how I'd leave, huh? With bloody knuckles and a broken heart. I wanted to lose it so badly and just tear through the forest like I'd done the cabin. I kept trying to convince myself that this would be the easiest way to go. If he hated me, he wouldn't miss me and if he didn't miss me, he would be happier when he finally forgot about me.
