Battle
Brightpaw looked out into the darkness at the fighting cats. There had to be a good place...Oh! Of course. She was standing in it. Now she just had to get up... "Okay, I think I've got a plan." She checked her surroundings once more, getting the eerie feeling of being watched. "I need you to get me to the top of the leader's den."
What? Earthpaw didn't even know if that was possible, but then again, he wasn't exactly an expert on the SunClan camp. "How?" he asked, looking at her wonderingly. "Just get me behind it and I'll show you!" she hissed. The tom pulled back, surprised at her ferocity. "All right, all right, give me a minute." He looked around the side of the stump, making sure there weren't any cats in their path. "Okay, come on." He stepped aside to let Brightpaw pass, then walked between her and the rest of the battle.
Brightpaw smiled inwardly, noticing the way Earthpaw shielded her. She dismissed it quickly. That was what she had intended him to do, after all.
Flowerface stepped carefully around battling cats, looking for a safe haven. The leader's den! (Everyone's going there. xD) There was a RockClan cat (Islandsong) standing outside the entrance, but she would be no trouble. They were on the same side, after all. Hopefully the RockClan she-cat would realize that. She slipped past the guard, who barely turned her head, catching her SunClan scent and seeing the herbs in her mouth. Once inside, she noticed several kits, two apprentices, and Petalsong! She put down the catmint to ask about the queen, but the apprentices had left. She went to Petalsong's side, wishing she had saved more herbs.
Sunstar collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily. His heart beat painfully in his chest, causing a twinge every time it hit his ribs. He slowly closed his eyes, no longer able to force them open.
StarClan cats appeared, stepping down onto the empty space around him. His eyelids fluttered as their twinkling pelts revealed themselves.Flamefoot peeked from behind the log, hoping no one knew where he was.
I should probably help my clanmates, he thought.
What if any of them have been killed?! I could never live with myself if I didn't do anything.Icestar tucked herself into Hopeflight's mind, resting there comfortably. Her minion slowly walked down the hill, fighting the whole way in vain. She had made sure to leave the tabby fully aware of what was going on but powerless to stop herself. This punishment would be good.
