"Kid, I'll make sure nothing ever happens to you. I promised I'd protect you, and i won't go back on my word," Shade said, then turned back to the enemy. "Well? Were did the fight go? Or are you chicken?" Shade sneered, making a rude but good chicken impression

"Shade, please stop. Fighting won't solve this now. You can't just fight your way through things all the time, there is such a thing as using words to settle things." Ink barked quietly. "You lot, don't you dare touch Shade. I would gladly give away my small life for him, unlike you guys, who just rely on your cowardly leader to tell you what to do."

Willow heard the jeering of other wolves and wearily followed it. She pushed Karrie, Shade, and Codak aside without a word and began fixing the pup up She was sick of having to do this, sick of watching her patients die at her paws.

"I'll watch your back," Shade whispered. He saw a wolf creeping towards them. He grabbed his neck and smashed him again the ground, cracking his skull. Shade sat down, panting. That had to be the biggest wolf he ever fought.

Dew set about making two nests in a den, the Alpha's den. When she was done she padded to Retuka. "Do you want to go hunting?" she inquired.

The wolf's friend howled and ran at Shade like a steam engine. Shade waited till he got close enough, then jumped on the wolf's back. He bit down on the wolf's neck, then jumped off as he fell.

"Don't bother, Willow." Ink sighed. Suddenly he yelped and put his paw over his chest and started shaking and panting hard. He also started to feel strangely hot and sweaty and a surge of pain shot through his body, and it should have been obvious to Willow what was going on. He was suffering the same fate as his grandfather, Dark...

"Sure." Rekuta warmly barked, wagging his tail slightly.

"Ink!" Shade barked, turning to try and save his friend. A wolf pinned him to the ground, pressing down on his neck. Shade tried to call again, but was cut off by the immense pressure.

Dew started off out of the camp looking for a meal. She sniffed around for pheasent or pidgeons.
