What were you feeding him?
Ive never known a hammie, or any animals for that, 'go off' shop bought food.
Sorry, cant help you, I have no clue about freash diets XD
well - his bowl is full every day (not filled to the brim of course, I don't over feed him) and it doesn't look like he's eating much, especially not the pellets. He doesn't have any secret stashes around the cage, either.
We usually buy something from our local supermarket, it's not the best of brands but my mum's got nerve damage in her arm and can't drive to town - the only distant she can go is to the shop, and that's about it for the next few weeks. I'm not sure on what the brand is, I think it's the store's own make but it's for hamsters, gerbils and mice and it's made mostly of pellets which he ( and all of my past hamsters) loathes.

Of course I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but my rabbit was introduced to my guineas when he was just a baby. Frisky was like a mother to him. It is not only rabbits that can harm guineas but it can be the other way round but in my experience, I've heard of more guinea pigs attacking other guinea pigs and rabbits attacking other rabbits than a rabbit attacking a guinea pig. I am sorry to hear that your or a friend's rabbit or guinea pig has been attacked but some get on well with others while others simply don't.

@ Snail with a top hat
Its is probably the brand then, but if that's the only thing you can get then freash is probably better. As long as you know what your doing

Just out of curiosity, have you looked any more into Viper & Vine? Just want to know what you think

----------------------------------------
I just discovered max rats. I want some.
But the pet shops is far away
They do deliver via livestock courier, but Im not sure id want to do that, especially when there's a possibility that I may be able to go to the shop.
*EDIT* Just looked at the delivery charges. Yeah, not a chance.

I'm sure it is just the brand - he was fine with a different one and I hope to get that one for him again. And yeah, there's sort of a limited range in the store - it mostly sells dog & cat food in the pet isle.
I've found a decent list of fresh foods to feed him, and have made a mixture out of it to see if he likes it. c:
I have looked into it but I doubt my mum would be willing to get them delivered, it is an amazing shop though and I might look into it in the future - I was thinking of rats but I'm not sure - my brother has always wanted a rabbit (I know they're not rodents) so I might look into that a bit, but overall I'll just see what suites my lifestyle better (I'll definitely have enough time for any animal - since I'm home schooled.)

You can give him TINY bits of boiled egg once or twice a week, baby food/ fruit puree. Or look into vita drops for his water.

When do you guys think its time to put a rat to sleep? Stef's tumor has grown twice in size in just the past week. She can barely walk. she just stays on the top shelf of her cage. Poor Ivy knows something wrong and will sleep curled around Stef to keep her warn, but Ivy is getting old as well. Her right eye is getting milky and she has two tumors under her front legs.

I've found Wagg muesli is best, if you could get that.
I think most of the bigger supermarkets sell it, Asda & Morrison's defiantly do. And I think Tesco's does as well, but I'm not sure.
yeah, I just looked at the delivery charges. My god, its ridiculous.
I'm really hoping to get to Manchester at least before Christmas, there's a big shopping centre that my grandparents have been promising to take me to for years, and some other places in the town I want to go to. So if I do go, I'll let you know what its like

Rats are awesome. My two girls were quite timid, and didn't like being handled a lot, so when I get my next two (only a couple of weeks left

) I'm going to spend extra, extra, extra time with them XD
And in all honesty I prefer them to hamsters. Don't get me wrong, I love my hammies, but there's just something about rats XD
Rabbits, it really depends if your up for the vets bills, neutering/spaying & vaccinations & boosters.
*fistbump* Homeschooler! Completely off-topic, but I've been home schooled for the last two years of High-school. I officially left full-time education last month, so I'm not actually home schooled any more, but still XD

I'm very sorry to hear that but in my experience they try and chew it off (My moms rat died from blood loss after chewing her tumor off) I'd say soon is probably for the best.. :c
I have anxiety so prefer to PM. I'm sorry if this inconveniences you!
