I curled up on the floor, letting out soft purrs. "I know it's different but, I like it better this way. I don't know, maybe I'll cut it short later on." I probably wouldn't do that but I did need to get rid of an inch or two because my hair was steadily growing down to my waist again and I really didn't want that to happen. In fact, everyone needed a trim. Hiro's hair was getting beyond unmanageable and I doubted he'd let me brush it so cutting some of it would be helpful. The fact that Ren could see through his curtain of inky black locks was a miracle in itself but he was pretty complaint about that kind of thing. Riley had long since needed her hair cut, Athena was going to need one soon, and by now I was starting to consider forcing everyone into a salon or something.

"No, I like it longer," he said, running his fingers softly through her hair. He got to thinking of his own hair, and frankly he didn't want it to be cut. He liked his hair longer too, but maybe he'd let Jinx trim it just a little. He didn't think he'd look very good in a ponytail and his hair was way too wavy to have a cut like Ren's, but he'd figure something out. He knew he could use a comb or something and that would most likely be a huge hassle. Ugh, hair was so high-maintenance.

Even without his adorable begging I was willing to do anything for Hiro so I wouldn't cut my hair just yet. My peaceful thoughts crashed and burned as I thought back to the conversation I'd had with Xmeria. My ears drooped almost instantly and it annoyed me that they always responded to my emotions even when I wanted them to stay hidden. She and Storm had kissed. It shouldn't have mattered now that he was dead but the thought still plagued me, making me wonder why he would betray me like that. Then again, maybe I was just a fun chew toy for him whenever he wanted something fun to do. What did she have that I didn't have?! A low growl rumbled in my chest and suddenly, I wanted nothing more than to rip Xmeria's throat out. Taking a deep breath, I forced my anger down and closed my eyes trying to think happy thoughts.

Hiro furrowed his eyebrows when Jinx's ears flattened and he petted them, "What's up." It wasn't really a question more than a demand to know what was wrong. He saw the flash of anger in her eyes and wondered what could get her so riled up. He supposed it could be that she was going through the stages of grief over Storm, but he highly doubted that. And even if she was, she'd be over the anger by now.

"You're gonna think it's stupid." I didn't even have to look up at him to know I'd be met with that cute expression on his face that pretty much said 'start talking you stupid cat'. Hiro was definitely the closest thing I'd ever get to having a diary. I could figuratively write all of my secrets out for him and he'd keep them safe for me. "I recently found out that Storm and Xmeria...kissed. I know it's stupid to be mad about it now but it's still painful to know that he'd do something like that to me."

Hiro sighed and pulled his knees up to his chest, keeping his fingers in her hair. He'd seen how Xmeria was acting around the mutt so he had assumed there was something going on, and sure enough. "I don't think they kissed," he said quietly, looking anywhere but at her. "I think she kissed him."

"You have no idea how much I want to believe that." It was funny how I always ended up feeling like the child whenever I went to Hiro with my problems. I didn't always mind though. There was hardly ever a time in which I could just be a teenager. Then again, most teenagers didn't kill as much as I did, nor did they have wings. Yeah, trying to be normal was pointless. Finding love again would be just as moot of a point. This was going to haunt me forever, or at least until I knew the truth.
