A faint smile graced my features as I finally caught sight of a stream that seemed to wind through the forest endlessly. The sound of the moving water was music to my sensitive ears, creating a beautiful cadence that could only be found in nature. Birds chirped every now and then, and not in that annoying way that made me want to wring their necks in the morning. My smile only grew as I sat down close to the water. Yeah, this was nice. I stuck my hand into the water, not minding it's cold temperature. Thankfully, it wasn't ice cold so I didn't mind too much.
Before I could change my mind, I took a deep breath then stuck my head in the water, opening my eyes slowly to view the underwater creatures around me. The blue dye came to mingle with the water, painting a pretty picture what with the silver glinting of the fish that swam though the blue dye. Tendrils of once blue hair passed into my line of sight and I was surprised at what I saw. It wasn't until my lungs screamed and black dots danced across my vision that I pulled my head out of the water, panting heavily. The deed was done now. No more blue haired kitty, although the color I was facing now happened to be just as odd.
Those scientists really did a good job of ensuring that I would forever be considered a freak among the general population. Black fluffy ears and white hair. It wasn't even passable as a platinum blonde. Nope. It had to be snowy white in color. This wasn't even fair! I didn't even remembering it being white. Had the change occurred when my feline DNA kicked in? Ugh, I just had the worst luck. After squeezing most of the water out of my hair, I got up and brushed the dirt off of my pants before turning back and heading off towards the cave again. Hiro would probably think this was hilarious along with the rest of the flock. oh well, I didn't regret my decision, I just resented the school even more because of my hair color.
