Name you'll give it:Palpable Brilliance (call name: Brilliance)
Gender: female
Reason you want it: Well I failed with getting my first Tracker dog that other time... with Frostbite. So I'ma try again! Yeee,,
Other info: Uhm, well, I personally think this is one of your best designs. I like the idea for this one, too.
How about a short story?
They were after me again.
My name's Palpable Brilliance. My parents gave it to me because of my bright markings and the fact that you can feel heat coming off of the glowing purple markings. Truthfully, this was getting boring. Every night it's run, hide, wait, then sleep in the daytime like usual. But this time was different. The group of humans had bloodhounds after me, so I was a bit afraid of their strong noses. They could find me in the daytime- which I couldn't stand staying awake in or I'd overheat- meaning I'd have to find my best hiding place yet and make my trail complicated. Their harsh barking sounded in the distance again.
Fun.
Running through the forest, panting, I saw a purple-pink glow around me and realized I had forgotten to tone down my heat-giving markings. The humans were hunting me for the chemical compound in my fur and skin that created the glow and heat. I turned it down, but I was unable to turn it all the way off. I wasn't built like that, which sucked sometimes.
I heard a few names of the humans in the five-person group, and the head human, a female, had the name Hunter in part of her name. She didn't seem like a bad person, but I didn't want to be killed just for one part they wanted, and didn't even need. Heck, I didn't want to die at all, no matter how much of me they were going to use.
Each of us Tracker dogs were different. We just bred with each other like any animal and completely different pups showed up, with completely different purposes. Either way, I was the only one of my breed- a thermal Tracker. Now I knew what it felt like to be an endangered animal.
I tripped over a rock and didn't even bother to get up. I just lay on the ground, trying to stifle my heavy breathing and listened to the sounds of them getting closer. To my luck, I had landed in front of a deep cave. Quickly I got up and ran into it, turning on my markings for heat in the dank cave. Ledges were all against the walls and pockets were in the roof. An idea hit me smack on the head.
I would simply jump onto one of the ledges and then skip over a few rocks so my scent wouldn't catch on them, making my trail seemingly stop. I started that, jumping as far as I let myself over patches of rock so as to carry out my plan, carrying myself higher and higher. Then I went forward and found a pocket in the roof and curled up tightly in it. Now they wouldn't be able to follow me by scent.
Honestly, I lucked out on this. Even if they came back in the day time with flashlights, they still wouldn't be able to find me near the roof like this. Dawn was approaching, so I closed my eyes for sleep.
I, Palpable Brilliance (or, as my friends called me, Brilliance), was not about to be caught quite so soon.
