Sean bit his lip "I understand" he said defeated. He looked at her kindly "but there has to be a way I can make sure he does not hurt you. I will even offer my body as a shield if I have to" he said softly

"That's so sweet, Sean..." Maye murmured kindly and popped in two pills and swallowed them. She smiled to him "Thank you, for helping..." She said softly

Sean shrugged "I like helping girls in need" he said softly. He felt his phone vibrate once. He took it out of his pocket and looked at the text "I'll be home soon. Work got out early so I hope you did everything that you were supposed to" Sean rolled his eyes he looked at Maye "so what shall we do about HIM?" he asked softly "I don't know if I should leave you alone again" he winked he started to mess with his bangs again smoothing them over his eye out of habit this time.

Maye looked at him and shrugged. She smiled softly "Why do you care so much about this, about me?" She asked softly, needing to know why he felt the need to protect her the way he did. Saving her life then standing up for her wasn't something a guy she just met would do, not like the ones she met before. Her eyes probed him, searching his face. She sat on the bed gently before holding his gaze again. She brushed her bangs away from her face "I mean, sure we've got a similar life but... Why?" She added, her blue eyes glistened slightly from pained tears. She bit her lip gently, trying to figure out why SHE cared about HIM so much. Once she figured out where her heart and thoughts laid she blinked in realization and bit her lip a little harder as she looked at him.

Sean smiled "I just need to know that you are safe from harm. I can't stand anyone who hurts other people" he said sort of avoiding the question. He looked at her softly "besides like I keep saying what young man would I be if I let a beautiful young woman get hurt" he offered another smile. His blue eye looking at hers

Maye blushed softly, but realized he ducked her question. "You didn't answer my question.." she murmured, standing up. She smiled softly but was determined to know.

"I thought you would have not caught that" Sean said poutingly before he smiled again "you really want to know don't you?" He winked " what you don't know won't kill ya" he teased "but I guess you are not going to stop until I tell you right?"

Maye crossed her arms and cocked her hip with a nod "I don't give up easily...." she said and smiled. She looked at him expectantly. Her eyes locked on his as she waited with a smile.

Sean sighed "ok I'll tell you then" he looked at her "try not to cry" he said sadly "I want to protect you because I think I am in love with you" he said in a sad tone. He was still hiding back a lot more but he hoped she would not notice. He looked at her with kind eyes
