It's a dangerous world out there. Even in the great city of Zianna. Within her city walls, she harbors a population of a staggering 75,000. Whether it walks on two legs, four legs, or maybe even both, one of them is you. You're caught in an endless territory war between two clans and a king who is trying to keep the city from falling into turmoil. For the first time in over five thousand years, magics have found their way upon the city and the balance of power is tipping. Use of these magics are undoubtedly a controversial topic, but whether you cast magics, wield a sword, or breathe fire, it does not really matter, all may look trivial soon. Prophecy tells of great magics which will fall from the sky, and whomever obtains these magics are said to wield the ability to "kindle the fire and nurture the inferno". This is Starfall.

With the invention of a technology we call gunpowder, I assure you that there is nothing to worry about. We may not have many gunpowder weapons yet, but when you hear the sound of thunder in a mans hand, you will understand why the enemies run in fear. And yes, the magic. The rumors of sorcery in my city are absurd. Such nonsense has been wiped clean of Zianna for over one thousand years, no such thing exists any longer. Oh, and the clans? Let me tell you a thing about the clans... They are the rodents, we are the hawk!" - King of Zianna
Humans have inhabited the world longer than recorded history. Due to their lack of claws, thick hide, and many other physical characteristics, one would not expect such a creature to survive such a long time. But they did, and they thrived. Relying on their natural aptitude of intelligence, the humans managed to become the greatest superpower in the world. Erecting walls as high as mountains and leveling the dense overgrowth of landscape for cultivation, they're well on their way to mastering the natural world. With the early developments of a new technology called gunpowder, a new age of combat is being forged which goes beyond hammer and anvil. (Humans speak common language)
The dyre is a creature which has two forms and many different sub-races. In its feral form (called the Clawed form) the dyre walks on four legs like an animal and is nearly indistinguishable from one. Not only does this form provide the Dyre with great speed and agility, but this also gives the dyre the ability to blend in as a local animal. In its two legged form, or "bladed form", a dyre takes the form of standing like a human and being able to hold and wear things like a human, but most non-customized armors are incompatible with their different anatomy. In this form, the dyres gain the ability to wield weapons of war. When shape-shifting, gear gets converted to equivalent forms between feral and bladed forms, though the effects may vary.

Unlike the humans, the dyres have only lived in clans or packs; in all of recorded history, not once has there been a Dyre stronghold. Ranging from beasts the size of home to the size of a large house cat, dragons existed in this world for many ages. Before recent events, Dragons were very savage and unintelligent creatures, mostly used for sport and blood games by the humans. But for some strange reason, dragons have seemed to have gained a much greater level of intelligence. What used to be a nearly unapproachable creature has become what some ride, train, or even talk to. Though, a majority in the city still fear the dragons as a menace and call for their eradication, those who choose to protect the dragons stand strong. (Since starfall is in the city, be realistic to the size of the dragon)

For king and country! You fight for Zianna and serve the king to the death. The royal line of Zianna has not once fallen into enemy hands for the last one thousand years, and you are going to keep it that way. The Legion boasts an undeniable strength in both military and technology, and whether you maul your enemy with claws, fight as or on a dragon, or something in between, you are well equipped for the job. The Legions coat of arms is a hawk which hunts it's prey.
Ever since you were born, you were bred to look at the night sky with respect, you lived under the blessings of gods. The Callers are one of two large clans who live in Zianna, but of the two, they are by far the most spiritual. It is hinted in an ancient prophecy that, in order for the Callers to achieve the ultimate will of their gods, they must display their power of the stars when the time is right. The Callers coat of arms is a wolf which howls to the night sky.
The Highborne were once rumored to be a clan of great wealth, some even speculate that they once held the throne to Zianna itself; however, the same does not hold true any longer. You are among the Highborne, a clan which had everything taken away from them by the Legion. Having no wealth left, you lived your life in the poor districts of town. But you and your clan stand united and plan to take what's rightfully yours when the time arises. The Highborne's coat of arms is a phoenix which rises from ashes.
What are your allegiances? Who do you fight for? You are an Other. You fight for no king nor clan, but you are no peasant either. You are armed and you are dangerous. You fight for your own cause. The Others have no coat of arms.

You are graced with the power bestowed from the gods. With this gift, they left you heightened abilities in strength, intelligence, or agility. However, they also left a mark on your forehead in the shape of a full, half, or crescent moon respectively. This mark sets you apart from everyone else and you will be avoided by many (besides the callers, who view it as a blessing). The government, in an effort to eliminate all forms of magics, will hunt you too. Graces belong primarily to The Others, but the other two clans may have them as well.
The untrained may be able to learn only one lesser magic, but one who is attuned to magic can use up to three of these. You may decide what this spell is, but so long as it follows the word "lesser". No damage spells, no mind control/read spells, only minor ones. All factions may have this, but the Legion has a very low tolerance for it.
Only the more attuned in the magical art may accomplish the feat of mastering greater magics, but the study of such leaves you with a more frail body than others. The attainment of Greater Magics gives you very strong abilities over the elemental and physical plane, allowing great spells to be cast. You may decide what this is, but mind control/read spells are not allowed. Keep the magic within reason too, no leveling battlefields with one ability. You must scale your weaknesses in comparison to your magics (up to a cap of 5 spells).
Blood magics are one of the greatest forms of magics which can be obtained by all who pursue it, however, at a cost. The practice of blood magics require a sacrifice, though a small blood sacrifice may be used, only an equally small return will be received; the sacrificing of lives, however, wields a much greater effect. The life force of the sacrificed can be captured into a soul shard which may store them (Though blood magic can be done without them, doing so requires the blood price to be "paid" on the spot), these can only be obtained on the black market. Blood magic is frowned upon by most on all factions.
Not much is known about this magic yet, however, it is hinted in old texts. Stars will rain from the sky and within them are shards. Within these shards are the greatest form of magic which have unfathomed ability, but unknown drawbacks... (I will personally initiate these Starfall events and you should keep your eye out for them. The ability they provide will be random, but I will try to curve them to whomever is nearby. Nobody starts with Star Shards.)

I will not be providing the complete layout of the form and am leaving most of it to your creative abilities to ensure you can keep up with the semi-lit style RP which will take place. However, I will provide the basic guidelines and restrictions for each race. If you really REALLY want a form, I can provide you with one, but I highly encourage self made forms.
