Actually, in Asian culture, Dragons are wise, peaceful, good creatures.
It must be the second one, but they're already weak to Ice. Nobody cares that Sableye has no weakness and they care that Dragons have only about 2 weaknesses.

    That being said, in Okami (if you don't know what it is, it's a "series" about Japanese mythology and has a two games, Okami for PlayStation 2, Wii and PlayStation 3 and Okamiden for DS) there are demons called fairies.
    Sableye? That makes me wonder... How will other types work with Fairy?

So I found this on a tumblr post regarding X and Y news:

Fairy is super effective against Dragon, Dark and Fighting.
It is weak to Steel, Ice and Poison.

YES GOOD

On a side note, the new main characters for the games don't look too bad, though their sunglasses... cries. But the girl is blonde! I've been waiting for a playable blonde forever ;3;

Except I'm pretty sure that's still unofficial guessing. Neither serebii.net nor bulbapedia have anything matching that information.

However, I have heard one interesting theory as to why Fairy-type is effective against dragons: "Fairy tales are not powerful because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten."

Also, it's something of a balancing thing. I've heard that Dragon-types have become overpowered since Ice is a generally weak type and sending a Dragon-type against another Dragon-type is a speed-based suicide run. Just like how they introduced Dark in gen. II to combat the overpowered Psychic type whose only weaknesses in gen. I were pathetically weak Bug types and glitched Ghost types (though, even if it hadn't been glitched, there were only 4 by gen. II anyway)

Agh, I forgot to mention that the article specifically said that these were only rumors! Whoops!
