My favourite pokémon from 6th gen is Helioptile and the dragon I don't remember the name. I just love reptiles and electricity and then there's Helioptile... Let's hope it evolves into a Dragon type.

Someone on Dungeon Gaming Network said that it might be because in mythology dragons are usually bad creatures and fairies are usually good. Or something.
Either that, or because Dragon is a ridiculously unbalanced type, so... =P
